Camera issue check-in. None of the "workarounds" work. The only thing that works is restarting the phone, and that only works until I go to change a setting. To bad. Time to restore to the last working verson.
Lucky you I guess. After the camera crashed due to changing a setting opening it from the lock screen just results in a frozen phone that needs to be rebooted.
Nothing to do with luck really. You cleared data for the gallery and rebooted first right?

Tried to change setting, camera app froze, tried opening it using the lock screen which resulted in a frozen phone.
After restarting, I opened the camera changed a setting and it froze. Then I cleared data for the gallery and tried opening it in the lock screen, this time it didn't freeze but it "could not connect to camera" so I restarted the phone, opened the camera app, changed a setting and it froze again.
you're not reading what i'm telling you to do. you are doing way too many things and expecting this to work.
1.) clear data for the gallery
2.) reboot
3.) open camera from lockscreen (by sliding it open)
4.) take a picture if you want.
5.) all settings work.
Well I tried it this about 5 times with no luck. I wiped data and tried again and it worked. Thanks for your help Task!

on 5.8 - should Messaging be "dark" with the ui switch like phone, people, etc? Or do we need to change theme settings like before...
Nope. It wont be dark by using the toggle. I decided to leave the fully customizable Mms app in my builds for the users that like that version. Otherwise I would've had to replace it with one that doesn't have all the options that it has. With it being so customizable, the user can invert it if he/she chooses.

Not sure if this helps, but clearing app data/cache fixes it temporarily. Eventually the issue will return. If you search my log for tracktitle you will see 3 entries. The first 2 songs in the log WORKED, the last one DID NOT (left channel very quiet). Hope this helps.ha ha, my bad too.
no idea where the issue lies, but the problem (right volume >> left volume) only happens when playing music on google music.
it does not happen when playing videos or playing the same song on Winamp (logs include both playing googe music and winamp on same song).
using an older 3.4.43 kernel (like kt's kernel) works fine. as tasks' logs mention lots of updates in 3.4.44, didn't really see many changes on sound (couple changes in sound drivers?), no idea.
as i've mentioned earlier, neither the dsp or faux sound seems to be working either (with google music).
as always, clean install of 5.8.2013
um, good luck to the ppl smarter than i in figuring this out.
Hey man, I am having the EXACT same problem. I wiped/flashed the newest 6.19 rom and still getting the same problem. So severe that after I exit the app, my phone locks up and reboots completely. Moreover, it also corrupted my SD card, forcing me to reformat it. I would also like to know if anyone else is having this issue and what may cause it. Impossible for me to get a log since my phone locks and reboots, even after a fresh install.
Task...there is no need to be an ass about this, this is clearly not isolated to instagram and may be complications with your ROM or some weird bug. This is an FAQ about stuff related to your rom, when ppl ask questions in your development thread, you flame them, when ppl ask in the FAQ thread, you do the same. No one is asking you to fix it, we just simply want to know what is happening just in case this translates to other instabilities in the rom.
