It's not a bad thing, but you cannot get OTA with it. Look in dev section for the toolkits, they can change your CID for you
Why is this happening with me?

Hi. Could you tell me what Super CID 1111111 is?
Also, what do I change it to so that I receive the Android 4.2.2 OTA update?
My firmware version is .707, India.
EDIT:
When I booted to BOOTLOADER, the first heading read "locked", and the first line ended with "S-OFF"
does that mean my HTC One is S-Off?

+1 i'm really hoping this model just doesn't get left out and not taken seriously. I'll give it a bit yet for them to start releasing updates quickly before converting mine to a google play edition phone. I like zoe so i've been sitting tight. NO reason for it to take this long.

I think you will remain S-OFF as long as you don't modify it to be S-ON yourself, but I'm happy if anyone can confirm.
If you're S-off you can pretty much do anything. If you S-On with hboot 1.54, you won't be able to S-off again until a new temp root exploit is found.
WARNING...like guy said a few pages back the new update has lowered the sound considerably my guess is 30 % im hearing they done it because of concerns with blown speakers... and i agree boom sound dosent sound amazing like it did.hoping next update will fix...im really gutted about this.
Great question. I don't see why if 4.2.2. is ready across Europe/Tawian, why HTC isn't pushing it directly to US Dev Editions.
Is there even any sign or indication that HTC has pushed it to the carriers for their "approvals"?
