I always used Catlog app to get logcat for apps not working

Here's the best way..
Navigate to where you've installed the sdk. Once you've gotten into the sdk, you're going to look for "PLATFORM TOOLS" folder, inside hold shift + right click on any empty space, select "OPEN COMMAND WINDOW HERE"
Connect your phone to your PC via usb cable, in the command window type "adb devices" without the quotes. If you've set everything up properly it should return an alpha-numeric value, this is your device ID. If not, you've missed a step or installed sdk in the wrong manner. Go back and double check your steps.
Now that we know you're connected there are a few options, you can run the logcat in command window, or you can export it to a .txt file.
To see the log in command window just type "adb logcat" (again no quotes) and the log will scroll through your screen. To stop scrolling so you can investigate hit ctrl + c
To export to a .txt file, type "adb logcat > logcat.txt".

Your method described works flawlessly. No problem at all in normal kernel using 3-7-14 mike kernel, got a logcat too by this procedure. But the kernel(carbon) itself is not booting up. As a result adb devices doesn't show the device id(can't detect drivers) and the method fails. Even kernel(carbon) doesn't go to offline charging mode. Have I missed something? Tried to get logcat in fastboot mode and flash mode. But failed....:crying:

That only works if adb is initialized...If the kernel is not initialized than android is not initialized...There is no android for adb to debug
Plus you need dmesg for kernel errors and last_kmsg if there is reboot issue :|

No logs can be taken if kernel doesn't boot without some special techniques beyond the scope of a normal user or an enthusiast.

nice rom but...

this rom is awesome but I'm facing some problems.

1. after flashing the latest nightlies, I flashed latest gapps for kk. Some apps in the gapps.zip installs but it seems that playstore and google account (in the settings where add account is located) are missing even after flashing gapps
No bugs faced so far but still can't add a google account.

Please help, really want to use this awesome rom for daily purpose

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

    1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.

    2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ

    3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
