Hmmmmm. No deep sleep now. Only thing I changed was NH2 modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin, could that be why? Seems odd, but battery is dropping faster today, but no wakelocks or anything I can find in BBS or WLD. I'll revert to NE5 and see.

Long time out of signal (connection with GSM/3G) drain the battery.
It's a phone ;) priority one is call function.
Check Battery - Cell Standby

Simple deep sleep check = no bars of battery usage when screen off, not in use.

Don't know... speculating, different mobile characteristics might so something, no real knowledge about that. For me, business as usual on NH2. 1d 5h on battery, an hour or so charging and 56% left. Btw, i'm not sure how to chck that my phone is deep sleeping... never thought about it when battery has been working ok.

Right now every day is the same forme, and it really dropped off today, I looked at Battery Settings. I also use Better Battery Stats, and nothing shosed a clue.

Yes, I have much weak 3G in the rural hilly coastal area where I live, and spend as much time as possible on Wi-Fi, It is just a dramatic drop today.

I highly recommend this app.

Camera still has some rough edges. After a while it gets the phone warm and camera starts freezing again. And then other cameras like Instagram and google camera stop working. Stock camera freezes a little but doesn't crash.

Tried AOSP_4.4.4_r2_I9295_spegelius_v0.9.8-opt_dual.zip, but WLAN didn't work.

In general, doesn't AOSP contain any nice tweaks like themes etc (just asking, cause it's my first aosp, had only CM)?

Well AOSP is the base of all other roms so there's only the bare minimum. No fancy stuff here, move along... As for the WLAN, did you format /system?

Jep, everything via DualBoot Utils 3.3. Tried again after second reboot, no change. I've used your file, didn't build it by myself. I'm using Dualboot 8.

Edit: Just tried the non opt version. Same, WLAN not working...

Hmm, strange. Can you get a logcat of togglinh wlan on and off? Newer builds are using NE5 blobs for WLAN, BT and NFC...

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback. What does *#*#4636#*#* show under phone? Gsm auto prl or wcdma preferred? What radio do you use? Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to have this setting sticky, neither with gravity box nor with one of the apps :-\

Hi,

Sry for the delay - was moving and no Internet connection for days is really hard -.-
I'm on NE5, flashed via official german sammy stock rom long time ago. *#*#4636#*#* shows gsm auto prl.

Edit:
Just noticed that one and I have the same problem:

You can install xposed framework and install some modules like gravity box. Reeeally recommend it!

You need adb and phone connected with usb. Then issue cmd:
Code:
adb logcat -c (clears log)
adb logcat > somefile.log
ctrl + c to stop capture

This is the part with wlan (if something is missing, I can upload the whole file)
D/WifiService( 803 : setWifiEnabled: true pid=1373, uid=1000
W/Netd ( 349 : No subsystem found in netlink event
D/NetlinkEvent( 349 : Unexpected netlink message. type=0x11

Well 'Failed to load driver' would be clear reason why it doesn't work. But the question is why... i've been running with those blobs for a month now on various versions of this AOSP rom and no problem. On one development version i got no wifi, i was implementing some kernel stuff from Samsgun KK kernel and wifi just wouldn't start. I didn't investigate then, because i was already building noather dev version and never saw the problem again.

So you formatted /system and did factory reset before installing? What version of CWM are you running?

Weird...

I've used DualBoot Utils 3.3, formatted System, Data, Cache (the all in one option within Dualboot Utils), installed your Image, Gapps, boot.

Using CWM 6.0.4.7.

Before trying aosp I've used PAC ROM on secondary without problems...

    What?

    • A work in progress build of AOSP, using CM11 kernel sources and device files, modified to play ball with AOSP

    DualBoot
I provide dualboot version of this ROM, mainly because i run the test versions in dualboot mode (second rom). If you aren't' familiar with the concept, have a look here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2447534.
Basically it allows one to have two (or more) roms installed simultaneously, switching between them using the application provided on the above thread.
    Notes:
    • When using dualboot roms, DO NOT USE CWM wipe, format functionality. Backup works, but for what i know, it backs up the secondary rom too, not 100% sure how well this works...
    • For dualboot secondary rom, you need dualboot gapps
    • Flashing main rom destroys secondary rom, flashing secondary rom doesn't harm main rom

    https://github.com/spegelius

    Manifest and how to use:
    Code:
    mkdir aosp-src
    cd aosp-src
    repo init -u git://github.com/spegelius/manifests.git -b aosp-4.4
    repo sync

And it's fixed. Sepolicy was the key after all, i just had omitted all the sepolicy .te files on CM11's vendor/cm/sepolicy folder.... Well i hope i've at least learned something now... ;). Phew, that took WAY too much time. Oh well...

Non-optimized dev build available in gdrives dev-folder AOSP_4.4.4_r2_I9295_spegelius_v0.9.7-d23.zip. I'll be doing actual release tomorrow if nothing has broken, i'll need to do some inventory about all the changes before that...
