Can anyone help me. I have my own TF101 with this ROM for quite some time. A friend of mine asked me if I could set up a different tf101 for him if he bought one on eBay. I said yes and he did. Well now that I have the other tab he bought on eBay I have 2 problems. One is that it didn't come with the box and it has no serial number sticker on it. 2nd it has ICS with build number IML74K.US_epad-9.2.1.27-20120615. For some reason I can not get this thing to be recognized by my windows 7 x64 machine. It sees my tf101 fine and I can read and right both internal and external SD cards but it doesn't see the one my friend bought. Now I feel like an idiot because he is expecting me to be able to root and flash this awesome ROM on his tab and I cant get it to recognize it to even start the rooting process. Anyone here can offer a solution or point me in the right direction. I've googled my brains out and I am at a loss. I've tried flashing the .19 stock version of HC to then root and upgrade but it fails to flash the stock update. I hope someone can help me so he can enjoy this ROM as much as I do. PS. I am no novice at flashing but I cant figure this out.

Try using a 32bit Windows 7 with Easyflasher (In my sig) (I use VMWare), or disable Driver Signing in the safemode options of 64bit Win 7 before trying to install the universal naked drivers, also from the Easyflasher sig
Just try SBK1 and SBK2 in Easyflasher if you don't know the serial
You might be able to find the serial in the About settings though
Enable ADB Debugging in Developer Options too
I will try that this afternoon after work but to clarify, its not that I see an unknown device when I plug it in to the PC. The computer acts as if nothing happened when I plug it in. No hardware added sound, nothing new in device manager. Its not the cable or the usb port because as I said, my tf101 works perfectly in the same port with the same cable. I read online that this was a problem with ICS when trying to use traditional root methods. I am a computer tech but how would I change the drivers to the naked drivers if there is no device on device manager to update or uninstall the drivers? Should I use my TF101 to uninstall the drivers? I have a laptop with the 32 bit version of windows 7 that I can use. Sorry for bogging up this thread but I do want this ROM on his tab as it has been flawless for me. Thanks for your help. :highfive:
Turn off the transformer
Connect your transformer to the PC using USB cable
With the transformer connected and when it is booting press Volume up + Power button together till you hear a pop up on your PC showing new hardware found
The screen of transformer will be blank
Now open control panel and go to system then open hardware devices
Now you will be able to find a yellow colored icon with APX written on it
Right click on the option and click on update driver
Now travel to the folder where you downloaded the root kit from above and select usbpcdriver from the list
It will automatically get installed
Now you can go and root your device

How about connecting in "APX" mode, e.g.,

Ah ok, well yea use your working TF to install the drivers, then try Easyflasher on the broken one, if APX mode works then you could be home and dry, all the instructions for APX mode etc are in the Easyflasher thread but FYI (Connect TF to USB PC > Power off the TF > Hold Power & Volume Up until the USB connect sound sounds) Nothing will appear on TF screen as you likely already know
Easyflasher uses APX mode
I will try this later this afternoon after work. I tried apx mode before but no dice on the pc seeing it but i will try again using your specific instructions. I didn't have this problem with my tab because when i rooted i was still on HC. This is ICS and seems to be more troublesome when it comes to the drivers. I will update you guys when i give it a spin. Thanks for all of your help and patience guys. Really appreciate it.
PS. If all else fails, is there a root method using a micro sd or is it a total loss without the usb connection?

I've heard good things about this app that can root without a PC at all - then you should be able to flash TWRP using Goo Manager
Open Goo Manager > 3 Dots top right menu > Install OpenRecoveryScript
Download
Im almost there. I have root access with several apps but goomanager says it "Unable to find a recovery for your device. Check back later". I even get this message on my tab. Something up with goomanager? I get an error message when opening up goo that says "<h1>Not Found</h1><p>The requested URL /message was not found on this server.</p>" Is the goomanager server down? I don't see it in the playstore either. Is there another way to install twrp? This is getting frustrating. I'm even willing to install Clockwork first so I can install twrp later then this rom.
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/tf101/openrecovery-twrp-2.3.2.3-tf101.blob
Download the latest .blob file using the link above and save it to the root of your /sdcard directly (internal memory only) and rename it to twrp.blob
Launch terminal emulator (Install from Play store if not already installed) then type the following:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp.blob of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
Then reboot normally (NOT to recovery) to complete installation.
