Hi,

I had the same quick drained battery after the update, but just on the installation day.
During the night I've charged the phone and used the following battery calibration app at the next morning with 100% battery.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration
(I've used this small app after every ROM upgrade at the last years.)

Right now I've no probs with battery life.

Hi Mentor!
nection open working with it sometimes?

Yesterday I went out at about 22 (battery charged) and after less than 4 hours the battery was 5%. Almost the same this afternoon...

Should I try another wipe data or should I be worried about the battery?

Thank you!

How long does your battery last normally?

I use the phone a lot with BT and WiFi as well so I've to charge it every night: pull out from charger usually around 7am and start charge again around/after midnight.
So... usually I have battery between 40% and 60~70% at the end of the day. Of course, the 60~70% was a really light usage but it still include reading/answering/deleting emails and some phonecalls.

Thanks! I will try anyway...I'm waiting for the 2850mah battery :)

I used the app you suggest and it seems to work better now...thank you!!

The phone and the battery have two years. I posted three screenshots, one before calibration and two after that. Maybe the two years use has spoiled the battery...

Anyway I did calibration with 100% and as suggested I made the battery discharged (just 8 hours) with the use and then recharged till 100% again. I reached 15 hours yesterday and I recharged again (this time with the phone off) and this morning I recalibrated the battery.

That app performs the "battery calibration" simply deleting the file /data/system/batterystats.bin that you already deleted with the factory reset (with the factory reset you erased the all /data partition).
In my opinion the app for you has only been a placebo.
This app could have sense after an update without the factory reset but only when the update updates the kernel, thing that in our phone we can't do.

Hi,

Thanks.
Could you please remove the Data Roaming warning screen from the next update?
It's really annoying for me as it pop up very often.

Thanks,

Just released a new updated that optimize the boot:
- removed the script loadpreinstalls.sh that at every boot checks the content of the /preinstall partition
- in JB fully removed the bugtogo

Yes, as an alert on Notification bar is OK and there is a roaming on/off option in Settings. If you/we don't wanna use the data roaming, just have to remove the thick from Mobile Network Settings.
As I'm travel a lot (half of the month I'm away from my main country) this new notification pop up appears daily couple of times and it use to cut off data connection when the phone changing network, I'm driving through tunnels, lost signal on the road.... so no emails, no skype and I've lost the connection to my office.

I think that for a gsm rom it is really important, the past month it has avoided me to spend a lot of money out from my country.

Update

Changelog update 18-12-2014:
- device name changed from cdma_maserati to umts_maserati
- tried to improve the signal strength
- tried to improve the 2g/3g switching
- tried to solve the problem that the stock rom has with some router wifi

The feedbacks are needed specially for the last point, i do not have one of that routers that has problems with this phone so i can't test personally.

Mentor.37,

Thank you for your wonderful ROM patch and continuos support!

If I come to USA and want to use Verizon, should I flash stock firmware image, or it would be enough to adjust network type in service menu?

    - - Lapdock

    How to install:
    - Install Safestrap 3.75
    - Copy the Mentor's Rom.zip file to the external memory or memory card
    - Reboot your phone and enter on your recovery
    - From the Install menu select the Mentor's Rom.zip file and instal withotut signature verification on Stock Rom

    Risk of briking:
no one: during installation the installer checks everything is ok and stop installation in case of problem

    Advice post-installation:
    - ATTENTION: the version for JB automatically performs a factory reset at first install
    - After installing the ROM to optimize the GSM go into the hidden menu Testing typing the code *#*#4636#*#* and you have to make sure that the rom has set and otherwise you have to set: Phone info -> Set prefered network type -> GSM auto (PRL)
    - After installing the Rom you can uninstall Safestrap and have a full working stock rom for GSM/UMTS in your locale. To remove SafeStrap you have to reinstall the app, then you have to uninstall the recovery and finally you can remove SafeStrap

Hey Mentor, just noticed your interesting Rom which I would like to try. There is one thing I couldn't figure out: I don't like preinstalled Google Apps (so the whole package containing Play Store, gMaps, gMail and what ever no one knows). At the moment I'm running Cyanogen because it comes without Gapps (using F-Droid instead) but there is a problem with the HDMI-output and I would like to use the Lapdock 100 with the Droid4.

So my question: Is there a Mentor's Rom without preinstalled Gapps?
You can use this patch that will remove every Gapps except the Play Store.
    2
    you need to leave safestrap

    This isn't correct.
This rom uses the stock kernel so it doesn't needs safestrap to boot, safestrap only is needed to boot roms that use a kexec-ed kernel.

After installing the rom and I have to uninstall safestrap unroot, or I can leave it without problems.

If you want you can unroot the phone and uninstall safestrap but you can leave them without problems. This only is a your choice.

I'm not creating any spam list, I'm using the email addresses only to notifying the new updates and to avoid the band of my site to be consumed quickly.

I'm working on the Motorola Droid 4 from more than an year and I made for it:
    - this rom
    - the gsm patch
    - the bmm patch
    - the minimal gapps

I started to working on it for me because I'm using this phone on GSM and I made available my work to everyone.
Without me and my work you could not use your phone on GSM as you are doing and I should be banned from xda?

As far as I'm concerned should be banned users that use xda only to download other people's work without thanks or comment.
