I don't have Xposed

I don't use Xposed on CM12...

I had to reflash my ROM two times (the same one) to make it work again...

And you use Xposed version 3.0-alpha2?
I have the same phone and no crashs, but errors in the log.
This is my logfile:

The errors are around Secure Settings module, so I guess this is the cause. What is wrong?
Is it a bug in Xposed or Secure Settings because of LP/CM12 ROM?

My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505 / jfltexx) with CM 12 (actual nightly).
I have Xposed 3.0-alpha2 and Secure Settings Pro 1.3.6

Thanks
frank

EDIT: I asked now also in the Xposed for LP thread, maybe this error has nothing to do with Secure Settings.

When I want to know whether a task has been active I add an action "file -> write to file -> %TIME"
The file can be anything you want, I like to call it "test.log"
Will look into it tomorrow since I'm tired as heck right now :screwy:

My setup is quite simple

1. Profile
Left hand side
Code:
From x (time) every y minute Till z (time) -> From x time to z time, and trigger every y minute
+
Mobile Network, tick all the options include Invert
+
Wifi Connected, just tick Invert

Right hand part
Code:
trigger Wifi Trigger task

2. Task "Wifi Trigger"
Code:
2.a. Secure setting WiFi, Set On
2.b. Wait x seconds, y minutes, z hours (just replace x, y, z according to your purpose, ie I use 5 minutes)
2.c. Secure setting Wifi, Set Off
2.d. (additional, add if u like it) Wait x seconds, y minutes, z hours (just replace x, y, z according to your purpose, ie here I use 5 seconds)

For me, I've using this profile and task for years and serve me well

Hey guys.

I'm sorry, if my problem already has been posted. I've tried to find a solution here and in the net, but i didn't make helpful finds.

I want to create a Tasker profile, which can achieve the following:

Wi-Fi should turn on every 30 minutes for recalling possible new WhatsApp messages. Without Secure Settings it worked not even once. Since i'm using this app, it works sometimes - but very unstable. The biggest problem is the random success. I've tried so many options and it's not easy to see, what the single option effected.

GT-I9100, CyanogenMod Snapshot M12 (4.4.4), with Root

My best set-up so far:

Condition: every 30 minutes
Tasks: Secure Settings (Screen & Lights on 30 seconds) ; Wi-Fi on (both: %SCREEN ~ off)

Condition: every 30 minutes (one minute after the first profile)
Tasks: Wi-Fi off (%SCREEN ~ off)

Noticeable: In my battery stats there are some bars. I comprehend, that my Wi-Fi turns on and off solid. But the bar, which shows the device is active or not, has maximum a little line. It isn't possible, this line are 30 seconds. So i guess there's a problem for Secure Settings to wake up the device from the deep sleep. But Tasker and Secure Settings got the rights to wake the device, so this can't be the issue.

Can anybody list the basically correct steps for me in Tasker and Secure Settings? :( If more informations needed, please let me know.

Greetings,
Andy

I would have done it similar to @morxs.
If you still need to find out why it's only working sometimes and not all the time you can use Tasker's built-in logging function (main menu -> more -> run log).
It's more detailed than the "write to file -> %TIME" method but you need to find the right information in the log which I find rather complicating if you don't deal with logs everyday

Works for me. When you select an action, click 'plugin' to get to secure settings. To the right of 'configuration' you'll see an icon that resembles a pencil or something - click it. Location mode is under System+ actions.

If you already knew all of that, it seems like System+ could be the problem for you. Open Secure Settings in your app drawer and enable System+. It should ask for root access, if I remember correctly.

It works fine for me. As stated in the Toggle Network thread, your phone / ROM seems to be the problem, as things work for others except you.

Error occured when executing action: Mobile Data/Phone Options

Hey there,

i don't know whether this thread is still active or not, but i get the "Error occured when executing action: Mobile Data" "Phone Options". I just read in earlier posts that users of older versions had the same issues. Is there any way to fix this?
I just updateted Firmware via odin, rooted again, recovered everything (everything appears to be working), but these options don't. But before they did
If you tell me how i do that, I can provide you with a logcat so you can fix this in future updates :)

Kind regards

Toggle Network is working fine now, it was a Tasker Problem. I'm just searching for solutions from helpful users or devs. I'm not saying, that the app is the fault.. Chill

So I have to chill since I'm not a "helpful user"? I'm very proud of my Thanks to Posts ratio. I tried to help you earlier, and now it is "chill". WTF?

Is there any solution yet for the VPN issue mentioned here?

I experience the same problem on both of my Nexus devices. I own a Nexus 5 and a Nexus 7 LTE (2013). They both run on KitKat 4.4.4 (stock / root) without any other changes to the OS. When I try to configure a VPN in Secure Settings I get a message that no VPN was configured even though I have a VPN profile which is working perfectly fine when triggered manually.

    New feature in Version 1.1.8

With version 1.1.8, Secure Settings can be converted to a system app to get the same functionality as having the Helper installed.

If you wish to move the app to the system, you MUST first disable Device Administrator!
I cannot stress this enough. If you don't do this, the app will break and will be a pain to remove.

Once that's disabled, you can use Titanium Backup to convert the app to a system app.

    OP here.

To all having issues with the latest update:
Please bear with me. I haven't maintained the app in a while and Google was going to remove it due to a single permission that was used.

Rather than let the app be removed, I spent some time trying to get it compatible and clearly broke a bunch of stuff in the process.

I have since made some updates and released a beta and staged rollout. This version should be more functional but likely still buggy. Please opt in if you'd like to test.
