$25 to mod the phone? I get that they do a lot of work, but being forced into a $25 payment for a single unlock is outrageous.
I'm glad I got S-Off before they started charging people. And if their method is going to be the only one that exists to S-OFF future HTC devices then I might have to look into a different manufacturer or wait for someone to release a different method. $25 is too large of a fee, especially for something that used to be free for anyone with the brass to try...
Now if I get a new device, and I want to exploit that device's ability, what took a research and effort before now just costs money. I know no one cares, especially the people asking for the money. But I'll never waste my money on something like that. I'm probably gonna catch a lot of grief for this too but I don't really care. Pay-to-mod is the opposite of what I come here to do.

Hopefully someone else comes up with something else. $25 for a 1 time mod is BS. And I'm glad I don't have to use this for my device, I got away lucky early on. But hooray for the future? I get to sink money into my electronics just to tamper with them... I can't wait for more of this....

Sir, no one is making anyone get S-off. But the development involved....is a time and effort task. But enough of the sidebars of not agreeing to pay for S-off.

Back on topic, please regarding this ROM.

Do verizon folks need to convert to GPE for this ROM? I'm on VZW firmware and this ROM is running great for me. Can't wait for the update!

Auto Brightness is slow to adjust

When I'm inside, it's not a big deal... But when I'm outside, in the sun, and I turn on my screen, it takes a good 7-10 seconds (or so) for the screen to get light enough for me to even see it. The Sense ROM I sometimes use, it only takes about a second...... I know I can adjust the brightness slider up and leave it, but that defeats the purpose of the auto brightness.

Is there a fix for this, or is my phone the only one doing this (I searched, didn't see this anywhere else)? I'm using the stock kernel and no Xposed or any other mod's installed, other than the dark theme chosen during setup.

No, nobody has to convert to gpe. Just need to be on lollipop firmware.

Personally I think gpe is very slow to respond to changing light conditions as well. 5.1 is the same while slow it works but we'll put it on the list of things to look at.

I haven't found a straight answer for this, I'm running cm and aosp roms now. Can I flash sense and gpe roms the same way in twrp without doing anything else with firmware or anything. I'm coming from nexus so this is all new to me

Must be on the latest 2.8.6.0 TWRP and running an Android 5.x.x (Lollipop) Firmware.

Anyone else get an update? Android L MR1

Is it a 5.1 ROM?

I can't imaging a new ROM base only being 200mb? Usually when they go from a new number (like 5.0.1 to 5.1.0), an OTA isn't enough so you need the whole ROM and this one is over 700mb..... But I could be wrong?? But I do wonder what it was?

For some reason I can't attach a picture cause the gallery keeps crashing  but it says: android L MR1 upgrade for user/release keys. Says will upgrade my HTC one m8 to android 5.1. Size is exactly 244.2 mb

    Issues:

With the 5.1 GPE... Are you having issues with WiFi in deep sleep or worse yet the ROM will not boot. From my own experience after flashing lots of firmware zips, it left my phone somewhat messed up. After a lot of heartache and converting to GPE and what not my Wifi was still dropping out during deep sleep, and then finally ended up not being able to boot this ROM at all. Well... after converting back to Sense and going to the latest RUU for my carrier's device and a clean flash of this ROM I don't seem to have the Wifi issue as bad and obviously the ROM booted again. So if your having issues, try going back to the latest Sense RUU and restore your phone. It helped me. enewman17

    1. CyanogenMod Music might stop on first boot while media scanner is running. Let phone settle down.

    2. Custom kernel... always a possibility that issues will arise with a custom kernel.

    3. WIFI will be semi-broken on anything other then the 5.0.1 GPE firmware. Although the latest Sense 5.0.1 firmware seems to be fine.

    4. If you get "Couldn't add widget" at the top of the multitasking window, reboot into safe mode and then reboot again. Hold power button till you see power options, long press power off till you see the option for safe mode, press ok.

    5. On a clean install if you choose the sense camera, HTC weather will repeatedly stop until HTC Services is updated from the PlayStore.

    6. Installing any other kernel except for what is in the installer will most likely cause the system ui to crash. If the kernel you wish to flash has se linux set to permissive then it might work. We had to add torch se linux permissions to the kernel for the new CyanogenMod system wide torch.

    GSM Firmware:

Flashing firmware and changing the CID requires your phone to be S-OFF
*Directions will be the same for Sprint and Verizon devices. Please refer to the carrier specific thread for more info and firmware downloads.
Must have a working adb and fastboot setup on your PC

    Changing the CID

The firmware zips in these instructions have a large list of Model id's and CID numbers so changing the CID is probably not necessary.

Link to all the latest firmware packages
    https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=26963

    1. Download one of the firmware packages. If you want to continue to use Sense ROMs don't use the full GPE firmware, use the one with no Hboot.
    2. Rename the zip file to "0p6bimg" or "0p6diag" (if hboot is looking for a different name then rename it to whatever it's looking for)
    3. Place the zip on your external SD card
    4. Power off the phone
    5. Boot into Hboot (hold volume down as you power on the device)
    6. The zip will automatically load and ask you if you would like to proceed
    7. Select "Yes"
    8. Wait, the zip will load the hboot first, it will then reboot and continue
    9. Make sure to delete or rename the Op6bimg.zip on your external sdcard when your finished

Wow, I'm blown away by all of your support! I've felt terrible that I haven't gotten a chance to put much work into the update, and checking in on the thread was a huge relief! I promise I haven't abandoned this rom!

Sad to see this ROM die...

Finally finished up with school last week which took priority. Going out of town for a few days, but when I get back I plan to get back into this. I've said it before, I haven't given up on this, there's just been things going on that were more important.

Just wanted to inform everybody that we are no longer updating or supporting this rom. In our need for things to be done correctly and not just hacked together until they work, it has become too much work for us to update everything after every new release from Google/HTC. @enewman17 might be around a while longer maybe offering support here and there, but I recently purchased a 6P so I will be moving on. I'm sorry for this terrible news and just wanted to say thanks to all of you for appreciating what we did. And a huge huge huge thanks to @enewman17 for taking care of stuff and being a bad ass in my absence. Seriously... that guy is awesome.
