I agree with everything said here. I used to be somewhat active on xda, and then all the "its been answered" shizzle happened, and people were just plain and simple rude. Like seriously, there actually ARE people on this forum that just got into playing around with their devices, there are people who just want something better, but don't have the full knowledge of how to get there.
We have all been there, and I see nothing wrong in helping. But its very discouraging when even devs are rude, and at some point I just gave up on commenting or reading what other people say or ask. Until this thread popped up, and now I can say - you guys, ALL OF YOU, are finally bringing back the old xda days, when people were in here to learn, share what they know, and not to measure their online...pinkies.
Thanks to all of you for bringing the love I had for xda back!

And of course - a big thank you to beans for making this rom oh so badass :)

Mostly correct. However, how dare you lump everyone together. Clearly my pinky is the biggest.

hey you layer gurus .....if you use a layer but it makes your notification unreadable do to font and color is there a way to fix that without just dumping the layer

As far as I know, you can't. Washout is a common issue with dark themes. I haven't found one yet that was absolutely perfect, it's a painstaking process of combining elements from many layers, even then I don't know if you could achieve perfection.

This was where alliance shined on note 3. You could change EVERYTHING. Themes is pretty cool, and somewhat close in functionality, but certainly not equal. If you have xposed you might look through some of the modules. Some of them might allow customizing of what your after but not all the modules play nice apparently

Thanks for the reply. I am using PureNexus ROM with PureNexus Gapps. Build from 07/14. Whatever kernel comes with the Rom. It only happens on this ROM. WiFi works great for a few days and then just randomly shuts off and will not come on again.

I attached a video

I had this issue even on stock. I use automateit and created a rule that turns WiFi off and then back on st like 3am each day. Since doing this I never have the issues again. Its a free app too

But when will you have unlimited 100 up and 100 down at $25 a month? :silly:

Damn you!!!! I enjoyed T-Mobile here in the states at $80 for unlimited at around 50ish down and 30 up, but then I had to up and move and get stuck with Verizon.. Poop. I pay $300ish for 2 lines for 20 shared gigs....yeah...its bad. Both lines have paid for phones...my Nexus and my wife's Xperia Z3v(which she won't let me root) (also don't get me started on what Verizon did to that poor Z3!!! Lol)

Threads like this are why I stay on any forum. I used to be very active on a bmw forum until the OGs started getting cranky and not helping but being sarcastic buttholes. I was one of the few OGs who would continue to help but it sickened me when others who I met and knew were rude as crap. I had enough and sold my car and moved on. Yes...I sold my beloved bmw that I owned for 12years and only had 130k miles. I had blood sweat and even tears in that car with modifying and maintaining it myself. I don't even miss her. But these devs and everyone here are like what a fan club should be. Like family and help each other. I hope others can take lessons from everyone here and make xda the place to be.

This is really a wonderful thing to read...just a despicable band of miscreant users and a few outstanding devs.. @BeansTown106, @daveyannihilation, @bajasur, Surge...some horrifyingly evil devs/mods (@dwitherwell) make this like the good old days.

Can this ROM tell what the battery life is for a connected bluetooth device kind of like the LG g3 and g4?

It would be nice if someone did all the work, perfect it, save it and then let me use it ;)
Using several different layers and other than green on green google search, everything flows.

Hey guys. First off I just wanted to say thank you @beans for this amazing ROM. I've been lurking on xda for years and decided it's finally time to join all the fun. I'll have to say I'm no stranger when it comes to xda. My fun started with the htc g1 which I still have running cyanogen mod. Note 2 still has alliance on it and so on. I've been following most of you guys for a long time especially anything that @beans does. Thanks again for the great work and the awesome community. TLDR You guys are awesome and I'm glad to be here.

This made me cry a little bit inside. Seeing as how I sell phones for a living (not just Verizon mind you) I could throw some knowledge your way to help you save some money. 20 gigs on Verizon should be 140 and since both of your phones are paid off, Verizon actually offers an out of contract discount that they don't advertise. Call in to them and request it and bam both line fees drop from 40 to 15 a month. Hope this helps!

Same here. Lots of people in the Fi thread have reported getting bumped way up on the list. I'm at 2-3 weeks now. I was 12 weeks to never. I'm on Verizon in a rural area. They can't figure out why neither mine or my wife's phones will connect through their range extender, even though multiple phones present as though they are. So I'm excited to see what the service can do, especially WiFi calling. I think it's going to be a lifesaver for me.
Remember Fi is on sprint and T-mobile towers. So if those 2 have no service out there neither will Fi.

Both carriers show the same, possibly slightly better coverage than Verizon. It's hard to tell on the maps, I'm very near the fuzzy line between reception and no man's land. But Verizon doesn't have any sort of WiFi calling so I can't even utilize my half decent internet connection, and the WiFi connected range extender isn't working for some unknown reason. My wife was even convinced to jump ship to an I... Iph... Ipho.... I just can't say it. Doesn't matter, didn't work any better.
But the hope is that the WiFi calling will be the saving grace here, not necessarily the alternate carriers

Main reason I never leave this rom. Is the great gang and helpful people in this thread. I ask one simple question if a feature is present in the rom and the dev tells me to check myself lol. Jeez I'm staying away from dirty unicorns. Hostile waters over there.

Man, you guys aren't kidding. I kept reading posts similar to yours about these other threads but never knew specific ones so I never looked. But you provided one so I strolled over to take a gander. Good-ness. Why? I've been in these threads before, in your situation and it just made my blood boil. It takes more effort to be so painstakingly rude than to just be neighborly and answer a simple question. They always quote the scriptures from the xda handbook. And I get it, it's technically true I suppose. Still doesn't make sense to treat people that way. Hell, you could be his neighbor and not even know it. I'm a mechanic, his car won't start one morning. Sure, I got things to do. I could tell him to figure it out on his own. But the humane thing, the thing that makes me feel better about ME, is help the guy out. And beans has never asked me for money, never whined or hinted about it. I've donated to him, and other devs when I was able just because I thought they deserved it for a job VERY well done.

Oops, that was way longer than the "little comment" I had in mind, sorry. I'll stop now. Go Pure Nexus! :D

Don't forget to tip your waitress (dev).
