I think i might messed up something.
I was on Open Beta 8 before, with root and modified TWRP Recovery.
Flashed the new leaked zip with said modified recovery, and now, my phone always keeps rebooting to recovery.
Even tried to flash the stock recovery image from the MEGA folder, then it only shows the OnePlus logo for a few seconds, then black screen.
Tried cleaning every partition except Internal and OTG, then installing the new ROM, tried sideloading it...nothing.

It was something like this when i tried to upgrade from FreedomOS to Open Beta 8, but somehow I got it working, not this time.
Can somebody help me with some ideas where did I do something wrong?

In between
Working perfectly fine. Great thanks for sharing. Will see now further if update helps battery even if this was already nearly perfect in Beta 8.
They indeed reinstated agressive doze but disabled by default. Good idea so that only "power users" will give it a try! ;)

Edit: they fixed the reload of some apps when switching thru the multi tasks! Had Palabre always reloading the page, now this is back to where I was previously.
There is also "light" theme added to the "dark" and the "by default" ones (or Id didn't notice this before!).

TWRP .28 works fine. Here's my mega folder with all things ROM related. From here you can download TWRP 3.0.2-1.28

Doesn't matter, you actually can flash recovery with recovery 😁
Did it myself, everything works.

Worth a try, if fastboot method is causing problems.

I realized I misunderstood you before ... Thought you already have older TWRP (like official) and just need to update to modified one.
From stock you sadly can't install anything except signed OnePlus files (so stock ROMs). You need to flash via fastboot from stock :/

The only other method to flash recovery would be via FlashFire app, but that requires root so no good for you.

Not many options here, try to flash different TWRP versions via fastboot and hope that one of them works.

The solution was clearing all the partitions, flashing the leaked Open Beta 9 package, clearing the caches, then downloading the official Oxygen Recovery, flashing it in TWRP as a recovery image, and restarting the phone.
The original recovery can be downloaded from the official support site, under any ROM download page, at the bottom.

Thanks for the help guys :)

OxygenOS Open Beta 8 (Nougat) for OnePlus 3

    Hey everyone,

First of all, we want to extend a huge thank you to all of you who have been participating in our beta program. It's been a huge success. By sending in your feedback, bug reports, and general thoughts, you've made OxygenOS even better, and we're making improvements faster than ever before. Today, we have a particularly exciting announcement: Open Beta 8 – built on Android Nougat - is available now for the OnePlus 3.

Some key updates in this build:
    Upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat
    New Notifications Design
    New Settings Menu Design
    Multi-Window View
    Notification Direct Reply
    Custom DPI Support
    Added Status Bar Icon Options
Added Quick Launch For 3rd Party Applications
    Improved Shelf Customization

This build will not OTA to current open beta users. You can download the build here:

    OxygenOS Open Beta 8

    [Known Issues]
Android Pay may not work correctly
    Some stability/performance issues
After upgrading to Android N, you will not be able to directly downgrade back to M builds. Our customer service team has a special build of Android M that will allow you to downgrade, but this will format your device. If you'd like to flash back to M, please contact Customer Support.

Please keep in mind that this is beta software. This build will not be as stable as our official OTA releases. Given that this is a shift to a brand new version of Android, there may be more bugs in this build than previous Open Beta builds. By installing this update, you accept the potential risks.

Please let us know what you think! For general feedback, feel free to reply to this thread. If you find any reproducible bugs, we'd hugely appreciate it if you could fill out a report on our new Bug Report platform.

Thank you for helping us build a better OxygenOS.

    Thanks, and enjoy!

If you come from a custom rom, i recommend a clean flash and make sure you use the modified TWRP 3.0.2-1.28 as the official one is incompatible with the CB firmware yet.

For Users facing encryption problem with Modified TWRP:

    1. Backed up everything to PC (whole of Internal Storage including and not limited to Titanium Backup folder, Music, Pictures, etc)

    2. Reboot into TWRP 3.0.2-1.28

If you were already encrypted, it asks for a password (pattern or pin), provide and if it goes through, great and to step 4, If you’re stuck, read on…

TWRP doesn’t accept your password and says ‘Can’t Mount Storage: Connect to PC and Type these in Fastboot:

    i. fastboot format userdata
    ii. fastboot format cache
    iii. fastboot format system
    iv. fastboot erase recovery
    v. fastboot erase boot
    vi. fastboot reboot
    vii. fastboot flash recovery <twrp28>

    3. Reboot phone into Recovery
    4. In TWRP, Wipe – Format Data. Confirm.

    5. Once done, you can transfer from PC to Phone or use a USB OTG, the files your need to flash:
    * OnePlus3Oxygen_16_OTA_016_all_1611302306_cc5d2327b14247fd
    * SR5-SuperSU-v2.78-SR5-20161130091551
    6. Flash ROM (OnePlus… file)
    7. Flash SuperSU SR5
    8. Flash TWRP AGAIN
    9. Reboot into Recovery
    10. Reboot System

Boot would take about 4-5 minutes on an average

You "lucky patcher" guys better kick yourself out from here, thieves... Shame on you! And stupidity at it's best, you're even mentioning it... Get lost and pay for the software, respect the developers, horrible users, I would have wiped out your names from here if I would be in power, how many others are here... may doomsday take care of you...

If it's so easy why don't you fix it yourself?
Weird how people calling it closed alpha when coming from cm13 or 14. Dealbreaker for you? No one forced it on you, son.

Can those retards finally fix that dpi Bug?
Easiest things bugged... They shouldnt call this Beta... This is more a closed Alpha... 5 builds with same Bug... I See the Reporting of them totally takes effect. Hardest dealbreaker...
People like you dont need a phone. Calling OnePlus retards? Thats very mature. No wonder you only have 30 posts. Do you expect everything to be hand made for your liking? theres a reason it doesnt work. Maybe its not a priority to fix your problems. I know i wouldnt. Personally if i was oneplus i would make a special build with all the nice features we have taken out but with your precious dpi bug fixed. Oh and permanently lock your bootloader so your stuck with it. But you know thats just me :fingers-crossed:
