This ROM is better than stock nougat and lineage os? Especially in screen and battery performance. I'm going to buy a g4 plus next week, and on my g2 I got very used to nougat, I love it. So I want to quickly replace stock marshmallow with some nougat ROM, recommend this? Thanks!
Can you please check and let me know if hike messenger is working in your phoneYou can surely consider installing this ROM. Though, I've not spent much time on stock Nougat on my G4, I have been using the phone as my primary phone, which means my work email and files too get synced to it via G Suite subscription. Since flashing to this ROM around end of November, not have had a single bootloop or random freeze, which is FAIRLY good for a custom ROM. Battery, performance and features, all have been topnotch.
Plus the dev is quite active with regular updates, and the users on the support thread are helpful. Best bit is the ROM's official RR status, so you can expect only the best and most stable builds.
The only thing that initially kept me from upgrading to nougat was having to be without Xposed, but I guess, the huge set of customization options of RR coupled with the features that come as part of Nougat have sufficed to make living without Xposed possible. Plus XDA itself has an active modding community, so won't at all be tough finding what works best for your specific needs for which you'd otherwise depend on xposed.
Here's my set up on Moto G4 Plus XT1643 :
RR 5.8.1 (Latest build with FULL substratum support) + Gapps Mini + SuperSU 2.79SR3 + ARISE with DD+ + Arter97's YouTube AdFree Mod (based on wanam's xposed module) + Greenify Donation + EXKM

Try to clear network settings and rebootI don't know if it's happening to me only, but with the latest update my wifi speed has decreased a lot, I have 150mb optical bandwidth and with previous versions usually get between 90 to 100 mb of speed, but now I can only rich about 10mb, tested with another phone and computer and bout get really high speed, changed to previous versions and get again good speed.
My phone is a g4

Now is working great AgainTry this boot image. Not a flashable zip. Extract and flash as image.
Thanks a lot! I know about xposed, but I learned to live without it. EXKM due to some problem with the screen burn with this ROM?You can surely consider installing this ROM. That's usually because you haven't formatted your /system partition and the stock ROM still exists there. Not sure what changed, but RR flash failed every single time saying 'cannot flash over incompatible data'
That's a good spot. I remember formatting data, cache and dalvik, but I don't think I formatted system. Thank you for the comment, I'll keep this in mind when I mess up the phone next time. That's usually because you haven't formatted your /system partition and the stock ROM still exists there.
Almost a perfect ROM bro, just couldn't use the lift to wake up feature, if possible try adding that in your next update! Or if it's working, just tell me, I'll try again!
Thanks Lankern, didn't realise Ambient Display was needed. Appreciate that! The phone actually wakes up on lifting and an added bonus is notifications appear again on a sleeping phone.
Just to expand on your instructions, initially going to Settings>Configurations>Quick Settings >Tile Layout, and changing the number of columns to 5 and changing the number of rows to 3 made it possible/easier to drag up the Ambient Display on the Notifications shade without it bugging out (too much!). I also found that the Lift to Wake toggle goes back to off when you return to Display, but seems to be a visual bug as the screen still turns on upon lifting the phone.
In summary, it appears the fix is broadly:
[Optional]Go to Settings > Configuration > Quick Settings > Tile Layout, set columns to 5 (or more, just to stop the Quick Settings from bugging out too much. You could change the number of rows too if you desire).
Pull down Quick Settings and pull on the right side of the Quick Settings to expand
Tap the downward-facing double arrow in the top right corner (next to the cog wheel) to expand all the Quick Settings Tiles available
Scroll to the bottom of the Tiles list, drag Ambient Display to the dark grey active Tiles part of the Quick Settings
Tap Ambient Display to activate. (Not sure if a reboot/soft reboot is needed at this point)
Go to Settings > Display
Toggle on Lift to Wake (toggle may reset upon going back into Display)
Sleep the phone and lift to test
Anything I missed?
Bro neither my ambient display nor my lift to wake up seems to work!
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
Believe me, I'd love to post an RR Oreo based build, but I can't as the sources aren't public yet. From what I understand, RR waited until 8.1's release being that 8.0 was short lived anyway. Can we taste Oreo from new year ???? Dev
Nougat has been the best daily driver so far ......
