I ran this on my DS too (I updated in September to Software Version V10h-TWN-XX but I still have another update V10j-SEPT-22 available). I ran the Blueborn App which tells me this version is still vulnerable and also getting the same "Exploit done" output as stated above. So I assume unless you updated to V10j you are fine.

So how far or close are we to having a root method?
I don claim to have 'programing experience" but i know the basics, as well as lots of linux experience. Id love to help if possible

Sorry, I wasnt thinking, but I wasnt exactly asking for eta either, I would like to know where we stand right now technically. Are we at the beginning looking up to a mountain trying to overcome the first climb or are we near the end just figureing out a last event

We have Blueborne which has showed already it can give us access to the phone. Next thing is getting an exploit to actually give us root access. This is not the typical root, but actual linux root shell/access. From there anything is possible really.
Now Blueborne is promising but I don't have the complete specific technical knowledge to get it all to work. Getting into the phone is easy, but Blueborne doesn't give us anything else. We will probably need another exploit (like the Broadcom wifi) to actually give us root access, but I don't know for sure.

It is certainly a realistic mindset we can get root, but the sort of stuff we need and the exploits are almost completely undocumented which make it really hard to actually get something done, it's mostly just guessing and trial & error.

Is there another thread to talk about blueborne? Not sure if this thread is appropriate, but here it goes. I've tried that python script and even increased the number of "packets" to read. It seems to return "something" back but in the case of LG6, as soon as it hits 107th packet, the lg6 brings up a dialog saying "bluetooth has stopped responding". I've never been able to get pass that 107 mark. I did read that someone managed to get to 7000ish (and also got the possible critical BNEP address) by repeating restarting phone+wifi+bluetooth, but I still could not get passed that 107th packet. So I've tried on a samsung tablet, but that causes "bluetooth has stopped responding" around about 47th packet.

Has anyone managed to get further then 107th packet for their lg g6?

Ok I don't want to prolong the talk with this guy about whether root will or will not come to this version of the G6, but I don't understand his insistence on continuing to tell people that they are wasting their money.
This is a bounty thread. As such people are proposing to pay someone / a Dev IF root is achieved, and only IF it is verified. As such, at the moment none of these people are wasting their money, as they have not spent any of their money. No money has been transferred or moved or taken, and no one is out of pocket.
Sure, the guy could have expressed his opinion once that he doesn't think it will happen. But to keep continuously bashing people with the same thing day in and day out, it just stinks of trolling. I've seen him lambasting people in another thread as well for no reason. So the only thing I can recommend to all people genuinely interested in this thread / topic is to ignore this idiot.

To be clear, I don't have a G6 and have no vested interest in whether a root method is discovered or not. I hope one is found, both for the users who have this G6 variant, and for the fact that I believe phones are the property of you the owner and you should be able to do with it as you please (such as to change it as you please, or break it because you have no idea what the hell you are doing with it). You paid your money, the device should be yours to do with as you please.

Anyway... Good luck to you guys and I hope you get what you are trying to find.

Logs from CVE-2017-0785.py attached. Exploit was executed against my SM-T805 tablet and LG G6 + phone.

I'm not sure what does it mean and how interactive shell can be reached, but I will dig deeper into it

PS: exploit was unable to be executed on my wife's Xiaomi Note 2, I'm confused

nv. found it. interesting, but I think this involves odin to push custom roms to the s8, but lg g8 is bootlocked so won't be able to install any custom roms (as least from what I understand anyway!)
