Installing Update

First of all I would like to say thanks for your work on this ROM, I have been enjoying it for the past month or so. :good::good:

I noticed that my device is way behind in updates (201707), and was looking to update today. The built in Lineage OS Updater fails, and I'm assuming this is because of the unofficial build. Here is my question now, how would I go upon updating? I'm assuming just to download the latest build and dirty flash on top of it, but I was afraid of data loss and a potential brick. I have made backups of course, I just wanted to make sure I was doing this correct before I went ahead. Sorry for the newbie question haha, I appreciate any help :)

@hsbadr @jef_00, @_mone, @ripee, @fattire Why not work together on this ROM?

Have you seen this thread? As opposed to everyone else mentioned in your post, hsbadr isn't sharing his code, which is a great disservice to the community. As a result, the rest of us have contributed to trltevzw from scratch to accommodate those users. Furthermore, _mone has built an excellent unified device tree that has pretty much superseded any of the 4 single SIM carrier variant device trees anyway (the same for TWRP), the unified build from which I build literally daily to gather as much feedback as often as possible with the goal of submitting it for eventual official support.

This argument has played out a year ago by more senior members of XDA than me when Nougat was new; a fully functional trltevzw device tree has since been made readily available on GitHub, although I'm sure hsbadr's trltevzw tree is more polished.

I've noticed with this ROM, my radio drops the VZW LTE signal and I have to recycle/toggle the cell data connection (or reboot) in order to regain a LTE connection.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Camera Issue

Great ROM; however, I cannot get my camera to work.
I get the following message: "media sever died, closing camera."
If anyone knows a fix, please advise. Thanks.

It don't work on my n910v, bootloop after installation. Tried different bootloaders and modems. Same problem with RR. I also tried different versions of firmwares and also had bootloop. Anybody know what to do?. Or I would be grateful if somebody can give me backup of installed firmware via twrp

I wish to install this ROM due to the lack of google services. Would it be feasible to take a TW rom and strip out the google services manually or is lineageOS the best route to go?

Any tips on how to get the fingerprint to work? When I try to move it slowly like it says I just error out.

---------- Post added at 09:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:51 PM ----------

I'm getting extremely slow download speeds. I see this has been an issue with Lineage before? Anyone have any luck fixing this? Thanks :)

Having serious issues with no mobile data. Checked the APN, it's fine. It sometimes goes in and out, but seems to be completely off at this time. Tried updating modem to CQL2 but that didn't help. Guess I'll wipe the system and try another install. Anyone have any luck getting mobile data to work on Straight Talk?

Is HD Voice (VoLTE) working on this ROM on Verizon SM-N910V variant?

I see references to VoLTE in the changelogs of the OP, but I need to confirm it is actually operational real world.

So, would someone please confirm that HD Voice is indeed working? Thanks

    The builds will have three tags:
    • STABLE: include tested changes and confirmed bug fixes;
      are suitable for daily use.
    • TESTING: include experimental changes to be evaluated and to possibly fix some issues;
      may be used as daily driver only if they don't break functionality or introduce new issues.
    • VZW-ONLY: same as TESTING builds, but support Verizon variant (VZW SM-N910V) only.

    Changelog:
    For the latest changes and bug fixes, check the 2nd post.

    Status:
    This ROM supports all Snapdragon variants, especially US variants (Verizon / VZW SM-N910V, T-Mobile/TMO SM-N910T, Sprint / SPR SM-N910P, and US Cellular / USC SM-N910R4) and Canadian variant (SM-N910W8).

    Check the ROM status in the 3rd post!

    instructions:
    Only for international variants (SM-N910F/G):

    Notes:
    • Read the announcement post before flashing any OTA update.
    • Clean flash (wipe system/data/cache/dalvik) is recommended.
    • You need to install Gapps for ARM SDK 25 (Android 7.1.1 Nougat) .
    • You may also need to set default Apps and grant special access/permissions.

      - Click the Settings icon and select "Show system" from the 3-dot menu...
    • Make sure that your preferred APNs are selected in Settings/Cellular networks.
    • If you run into DRM/Netflix issues, flash WidevineDRM_N910VVRU2CPL1.zip!
    • If you want to restore stock display colors/options, turn off LiveDisplay (set Display Mode to Off), Adaptive Display, and Ambient Display. Otherwise, enjoy tweaking your display options and calibrate the colors for your liking.
    • For fingerprint enrollment, you may need to swipe quilckly one more time at the end so that you get two "Done" messages. Fingerprint won't work until you successfully register at least one finger.
