How do you mean by not readable?
Either way to ensure maximum compatibility, you need to uninstall all overlays before applying the theme.

Then, when applying make sure you select Nougat 7.1 for Android version and under Android System select "Default Accent" and "Default Notification Text". Avoid theming apps that are in beta and it's recommended to not theme WhatsApp either way as it always causes issues with themes in general.

When you apply your desired theming and build everything, restart your phone. Everything should work fine :D

For Google Camera, the best versions I managed to find that have no issues are the 2.5.xxx versions (I'm using v2.5.053). Very old versions I know but they're still capable and all the modes work flawlessly (Panorama stitching is abysmal though ?).

To my knowledge v5.8.5 has just updated sources and security patches, nothing too drastic or major over v5.8.4 . However it has a nasty bug with video recording, but quyleanh managed to create a build without that issue and posted a link for it (don't remember the page or number of the post so use the search function to find it xD).

As for the voice recorder I doubt there will be one better than the TW one given the HAL situation of our Note 3 :crying:

I don't know what's wrong but when I install 5.8.5 or 5.8.4, or even some lineage builds, it works fine for a while but then starts heating and wasting battery. I guess it was wakelock so I checked it and many of apps had many simultaneous CPU wakelocks and it was totally unusual. Can anyone help?

Go ahead and update. It's very stable and smooth. I've been using it since March 2 and I have no issues. As a matter of fact , I prefer it to the official version. Who really cares about official. All I want is a functioning and stable ROM. Thanks for the build. God bless you.

please make updates to fix spen detection. because in previous it doesn't work. so applications such as cm spen and note Buddy could not be used. For me u build is little bit smooth and battery friendly except that spen issue, so make me roll back to the official rr 5.8.5 build 09. Thanks bro..

It seams you guys need to leave and take your hate with you on the way out, as we don't need such negativity in here.

If you do bother using the search function, you'll see that the devs are working their hardest on bringing us Oreo and fixing the remaining bugs. It's no easy task given the closed nature of some of our parts of our device. And hey guess what: Again if YOU ACTUALLY BOTHERED USING THE SEARCH FUNCTION solutions are there for the problems you mentioned and have been discussed a quadrillion times already!!!!

I find it hypocritical you want the devs to push further than their limits, while you yourself don't even bother using basic search functions and following xda forum rules.

Leave us at peace please :)

How about the smoothness of RR compare to lineage? Animation sometime is sluggish on lineage specially when turn screen off. And battery life does it better than lineage? Thank you guys

From a personal experience, I found no difference in performance between Lineage and RR. Lineage is theoretically lighter but I never felt that RR affected the performance or felt slower than lineage, and the same goes for battery. I prefer RR for the customization and substratum theming.

You may see a difference if you use substratum. It might introduce minuscule stutter from time to time but it's not that noticeable and definitely not as horrendous as stock TouchWiz.

The sluggish lock-screen animation is a common thing on stock Android Nougat in general unfortunately not just Lineage (Even Pixel devices had it pre-Oreo ?). It's fixed on Oreo I believe and thus probably fixed on Lineage Oreo builds as well (fingers crossed we get those one day :fingers-crossed: ).

    FAQ​
    • Everytime I use the phone to record video/audio, the sound is always messed up
      Just disable the ok Google hotword detection from the Google app settings:
      settings->voice-> voice match (or ok Google hotword detection) and turn off "Say "ok Google" an time"

    • When attempting to add some toggles the toggle refuses to go all the way up and disappears midway through moving it
      Easy way to solve this is to go to settings-> configurations->quick settings tab->tile layout and set everything on maximum. Add the toggles you want then restore the layout to how it was

    • Proximity sensor not responding and keeping the screen off during calls until hanging up (or phone force-restart at times)
      Downloading and running the "Proximity Fix" app will fix it (root is required).

    • Can't connect to camera" Error
      Use the "Camera restarter" app as a workaround to avoid restarting the phone every time this happens
