To narrow down the issue, and to check if I understand it correctly, only the Archros Video program cannot access the SMB service, while the Xplore filemanager can access it. Can you open content from the Xplore app? Do you try to access your SMB service using hostname or IP address?
You've perfectly understood that the problem only occurs with Archos Video Player.
With Xplore filemanager I access my NAS using SMB Service by IP address not hostname. (This can't be done in Archos which only permit to access SMB devices by their Hostname)

Workaround : If I disable Blokada, go in Archos Video Player, register my videos folder from my NAS using SMB. Then Scan to add my films & series. It Works. I enable again Blokada and I will be able to Re-scan (if I modify from my NAS to add or remove files)

Settings -> Battery -> 3 dots in the top right corner -> Batteryoptimisation. Drop down list: All application. Search for Blokada and set "not optimised".
The above stuff depends on your ROM, if you use the one your manufacturer shipped, it may has other optimisation tools.
done that, but it keep getting killed after a while

Blokada downloads the enabled lists in your Blacklist once a day to refresh them. That's all why it uses internet connection, so if you can see increasing mobile radio activity, something else must generate that.
Creating your own blacklist can be helpful to prevent the above mentioned download operation, of course. If you generate a file and you keep updating it, after an update refresh it in Blokada manually.

I've done exactly that, I'm building the hosts file on my laptop (I could use my two previous rooted devices and adaway as well to do so),
because I use it there too anyway, so I will be feeding that to blokada (I found out that I have to delete it and add it again every time it changes),
another question can we have tcp dns logging (like in adaway) to grab new sources without root?

It means if the hostname is cached, it works. Can you set Notification enabled in Blokada and try to access the Samba Share from the Archos Video Player? I'm curious if a host is blocked. If it is so, a notification should appear with the blocked hostname.

And did you check if there are other optimisation tools? Because I don't have the same phone that you have, I can't help further if no info provided.

You don't necessary have to delete and re-add again, if I change anything in the file, and I refresh the lists in Blokada, the changes are read up.
How do you mean the TCP DNS logging exactly? I'm not that familiar with AdAway, so I don't know this feature.

are you sure? because I tested with two browsers yesterday and changes weren't reflected,
i.e. I added a site, I opened that site in each browser and it wasn't blocked,
I even restarted blokada's protection and still the site was able to display,
the only way I made it work it to delete the file and re-add it

I mean I open an app and I see ads, in adaway there's a feature to monitor dns traffic,
in order to determine where the ads are coming from and long press the dns entry you think the ads are coming from and
add it to the blacklist,
the latter is not important but the tracking is

Yes, I'm sure. Blokada needs some time to reload the new list, but after a few sec it should work. If I add the new entries to the list, I refresh the lists in Blokada (don't forget this), I can see the number of blocked hosts increased and the site I add is blocked. Except if they are communicating over https, some of them cannot be blocked.

I see. Currently it's not implemented, you can use the Net Monitor app from F-Droid to figure out the hosts, but unfortunately you can't block them (only whitelist them, if Notification is enabled).

Sorry for the late answer. I've tried but unfortunately can't see notifications with Android TV on my Mibox. :(
I've tried too with Android nougat on my phone and notifications are ok but it doesn't show what is blocked with this app.

Oh yes, sorry, I didn't have the info you are using AndroidTV. Well, to be honest it's possible some feature doesn't work on ATV, we didn't test it and the TVs will be in focus in an upcoming version.

    Hi @ XDA!

I'm the developer of Blokada, a simple to use ad blocker for Android that works for all apps and doesn't require root. The idea is to make the app very simple to use, almost unnoticeable in daily operation, yet perfectly functional. I'm asking the awesome xda community to take a look, give feedback, and have fun!

You can find all the important links at blokada.org

The app is uploaded to XDA Labs!

Your feedback is appreciated! Hope you'll find it useful ! :)

    Blokada v3.0.0-preview

Hi all, big news! I've prepared a 3.0.0-preview build. I'd appreciate if you find a moment to install it and check if you experience any problems. Note it's a preview bulid, its not pushed to existing users yet.

    Download:
    https://bitbucket.org/blokada/blokada/downloads/blokada-origin-v3.0.0-preview.apk

(if you use F-Droid you may need to do clean install if you want to try this preview)

The list of changes is long, you can find it here:
    https://blokada.org/api/v3/content/en/changelog.html

Regarding some recent discussion here, and other comments:
    - The work on keeping Blokada alive will be continued, but it may be better already on this release
    - Whitelist problems fixed
    - To translators, I'm sorry but I had to change some strings again despite I already uploaded a new batch. The good news is, I cut down on the essential strings. Now you only need to translate 61% of strings for me to be able to include your language. All the rest of strings is more optional, and comes from web screens, like help section. So always start from "essential" category (instructions: http://go.blokada.org/blog_translate).

    Thank you!

    Update: Blokada v4.5

    https://blokada.org/#download
    Changelog: https://blokada.org/docs/changelog.html

The newest version brings improvements in stability and user experience. We have made tweaks to Smart Lists, loading filters, the updater, and more.

This version is also coming to fdroid and all other places, so soon we should have the same release on each platform and no confusion. I have a trouble updating xda labs, its giving me error 500 on update.

Thank you for supporting the project and being here.

    Download:
