Are you by any chance mixing themes and skins together, perhaps applying ".micfg" Skins files thinking that they are themes? In any event, attempting to clarify (for myself as much as anyone else):
Apart from and parallel to the changes to the extension names of Settings, Bookmarks, & Skins from ".micfg" to ".mic" mentioned a few posts ago; There is a new theme engine which uses the .mit extension. AFAIK, those who are using a newer version of MiX which contains the new theme engine should be using the new ".mit" themes files.
As to the micfg files; As far as I can tell by following the trail you described, those are not themes and are not in the downloads section of TerrorFlatRider's website, but rather they are Skins in the MiXplorer Skins Gallery to which there is a link at TerrorFlatRider's website (as well as links from the OPs of this thread and the FAQ). If this is not correct could you please paste the links in a post here.
Some of this, including how to reset to default theme with the new theme engine is explained in one or more of the following places:
- The Changelog post of
@TerrorFlatRider's theme thread:

- This FAQ post:
https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=76630008&postcount=548.
- Other posts in the threads which can be found by searching for "theme" or "engine" or ".mic" or ".micfg" or ".mic", etc.
- The titles of referenced the web pages and the titles of the sections within them.
If I'm understanding this all correctly then, in new versions of MiX the only thing that would still be imported via ".micfg" files would be the skins. If that is not correct I'm sure someone else will fill in the gaps.
