Error 70 means you have no space on system left !

Your repartitioning failed !

No idea what's wrong.
Pls start again from scratch.

I started again from scratch and ipdev's partition file still fails. Can you link me to a copy? Maybe the one I downloaded from ipdev's post is corrupted? Or do I need to unmount all the drives before I flash his partition file?

Hehe, sounds like progress, finally. I didn't look at the filesystem to see if gapps actually installed, sorry. The gapps flash does not generate any errors or complain at all. I do not reboot between the ROM and gapps install and absolutely have never touched the "mount as read-only" option in TWRP... In fact, I reinstalled TWRP as part of testing to be sure. I could try and disable MTP and see what happens. I may try again later and look closer.
It's installing quite a lot of files actually but no packageinstaller, no gprop file .. etc.
Kind of half installation.
And no idea why ..

The "mount system as read only" is enabled by default, depends on your initial Twrp setup.
If you remove settings file in TWRP folder on internal storage you start from scratch.

Very strange issue ..indeed.

Yes .. I recommend to umount system and cache partition before running the script.
Copy the script to /tmp folder and start from there.

Good luck

I had a few minutes and restored my partitions and used ipdev's repartition file. I disabled MTP in TWRP and and toggled the Read-Only on and off a few times (left it off, of course). Still loops to recovery with rescue... None of the GAPPS are installed in /system either. It's odd that the free space changes though, something is using an additional 94 MB or so of space after GAPPS install and /tmp is empty. Strange.

I am in the same boat (loops to recovery after using ipdev's repartition script). But for tomorrow's commute, I need an operational tablet, so I restored from a nandroid backup (android 7.1.2 crDroid 3.8.5).

DiskInfo shows 1.2G for /system partition.

If I get a chance I will try flo-Classic_09-2018_AOSP_8.1.0_r45_OPM4.171019.021.Z1_followmsi.zip.

Hi all.
I am as equally confused as the rest of you.

As for now, all I can tell you is this works for me. (With 1.2 Gig system)
flo-Classic_10-2018_AOSP_8.1.0_r48_OPM8.181005.003_followmsi
gapps-base-arm-8.1.0-20180302-1-signed DeltaGapps

Side Note:
I was able to reproduced the errors.
Long story short, I dug out my OTG cable and Bingo!
A little too successfully. I haven't properly fixed it yet.
I have a sneaking feeling that, I am going to have to end up manually repartitioning all partitions to fix it correctly.

For now, please do not flash repit from or while USB/OTG is mounted.

Cheers. :)

When I messed up my 32G Flo a while back, I had success with k23m's gpt restore method using gpt_both0.bin from the ASUS service ROM. You do have to flash an older bootloader for it to work. See links below. Although it worked for me with 32G Kingston, please remember, YMMV.

Normally to go back to stock partition layout, I just restore my backup partition table. Of course, you have to have the backup file for it to work:

sgdisk --load-backup=/sdcard/gpt /dev/block/mmcblk0

All credit on this to k23m.

I was trying primarily with open_gapps-arm-8.1-nano-20181014.
open_gapps-arm-8.1-nano-20180922. open_gapps-arm-8.1-nano-20180906 also.

I honestly do not remember the combinations I tried.

I was able to install without error, until I reproduced the error.
I know that sounds very odd.

Only since I flashed repit, rom and OpenGapps using USB/OTG.
Something seems to be dragging over from that one time.

I have been fighting the install since. (Using repit and OpenGApps)
Installing from internal storage or ADB Sideload.

What really confuses me is why Delta gapps work and OpenGApps does not?
Something in the installer script?

Side Note:
Currently installed.
Manual repartitioning.

flo-Classic_10-2018_AOSP_8.1.0_r48_OPM8.181005.003_followmsi
opengapps/open_gapps-arm-8.1-nano-20181014

So I know these two work together. ;)

Now I am getting an error saying:
failed to mount '/vendor' (invalid argument)

Any suggestion?

Edit: I tried Clamour method and it worked! I don't know why ipdev file didn't work for me but I am glad I tried Clamour even though I ran into a lot of mounting issues. haha

Delta GAPPS booted but FC'd during setup for me. Tried a couple of times. I had success with MindTheGapps-8.1.0-arm-20180808_153837.zip https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=3700668719832236373 . Again this is with ipdev's repit repartition (1210MB system).

Specifically what I did to test/verify (obviously not all steps are needed depending on your current setup):

Restored to stock partition layout and mob30x. (just wanted to be at a known starting point)
Flashed twrp-3.2.3-0-flo.img from fastboot and booted recovery
Flashed lanchon-repit-09180202-system=1228M-cache=max+wipe-flo.zip from /tmp (disable MTP first)
Full wipe, format data, reboot recovery
Flashed flo-Classic_10-2018_AOSP_8.1.0_r48_OPM8.181005.003_followmsi.zip
Flashed Magisk-v17.2.zip
Flashed MindTheGapps-8.1.0-arm-20180808_153837.zip
Reboot system
Joy. ;)

I actually like this gapps because it installs Google search to /system (similar to nano)... This allows voice unlock, which I can never get to work with pico unless I systemize search...

I was tired last night, and when I repartitioned manually. I only gave system a little over 1Gig.
Apparently my tired calculator skills suck. :silly:

So the best I can do so far is 1.1Gig system using repit and OpenGApps.
Why does that sound familiar?

Currently running:
flo-Classic_10-2018_AOSP_8.1.0_r48_OPM8.181005.003_followmsi
open_gapps-arm-8.1-mini-20181016

Note:
If you want to try, just rename repit to:
lanchon-repit-09180202-system=1.1G+wipe-cache=max+wipe-flo.zip

adding +wipe will NOT backup and restore current system.
If you want to reparation and resize current system, leave the +wipe out.
lanchon-repit-09180202-system=1.1G-cache=max+wipe-flo.zip

Yes I should have changed the name to 1.2G instead of 1228M.
It was from my first attempt and I never changed the full name.

Note 2:
There is 54MiB before system and 8MiB after cache that is unallocated. (free space)
I originally stayed away from it. Maybe I shouldn't?

Are there newer ones available?

Sent from my taimen using XDA Labs

Havent looked, but for 32bit system most upto date drivers must be at Code Aurora which should already be included.

Also drivers for Marshmallow needs to be patched for Oreo so i dont know how much flashing an old zip helps.

Anyone can please correct me if my assumptions are wrong

Tried this rom, but after i resized filesystems, i could not add any Gapps package, it worked before resizing.

I tested without , and rom boots fine, when Gapps gets installed, the logcat indicate crashing and unable to find apps to be installed, so maybe some symlinks messed up when Gapps gets installed.

Tried all different packs from mini - nano, nothing worked, i had to move to the AICP dist, which works fine, although only with very small pico install.
