Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro
Official pie rom, not rooted, bootloader locked.

Face unlock has not been working for me on 10.0.3, still not fixed on 10.0.4. Tried resetting trusted face app etc. Icon appears for a second, then goes without unlocking, whatever the light etc. Anyone found this or know a fix?

Thanks.

Yes.
I updated non root locked bootloader Mi A1 8.1.0 01.11.2018 OPM1.171019.026.V9.6.8.0.ODHMIFE on 24.12.2018 to 1069.1MB 05.12.2018 PKQ1.180917.001.V10.0.3.0.PDHMIFK and lost LTE channels. After the update supported bands were just 1/3/5/40/41 (NV Browser/LTE BC Config/1649267441685). Prior this update Mi A1 support bands 1/3/4/5/7/8/20/38/40 (NV Browser/LTE BC Config/687195291869).

Today I updated to 71.5MB 05.01.2018 PKQ1.180917.001.V10.0.4.0.PDHMIXM and got the LTE channels back. I already tested channels 1/3/7/20 in real.

It is interesting that Mi A1 on Oreo supported bands were 1/3/4/5/7/8/20/38/40, but now with Pie Mi A1 support one more band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/38/40. So no channel 41. I checked it with QXDM: NV Browser/LTE BC Config/687195291871.
Are you sure?

I'm about to buy the A2 Lite because it supports LTE Band 2, the A1 with Oreo (October patch) doesn't (see attachment).

Could somebody please confirm that they've added LTE Band 2?

That would be great news for us in South America, because that would mean that now we would be able to use Movistar LTE. :)

I think someone confirmed that in another thread around here but I can't seem to find it. Might want to have a look around, it's here somewhere, I read it yesterday ?

Without any doubt. I dialed *#*#717717#*#* to enter diagnostic mode and read LTE BC Config right from phone's NV memory by QXDM tool. I checked Mi A1 with Oreo 11/2018 and Pie 1/2019 in my post.

Check specifications for MI A2 or MI A2 lite, LTE bands on MI A1 are just the same.
LTE FDD:B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B20
LTE TDD:B38/B40
Thank you for confirmation my post.

I've just updated to Pie (January 5) and there's no LTE Band 2. :(

Pie should've improved my battery life but it's actually going down the drain. I can barely make it through the day with a full charge and I loose about 15 to 20% overnight.

First it was LTE, now this. I'm really starting to miss how stable and good the last 8.1 update was.

Had the same issue, but a full recharge and another restart of the phone solved that problem, so battery life is more or less the same as before the update.

That's weird, because users praise the opposite, including me. Much better battery consumption in Pie with adaptive battery. Did you checked consumption of your apps?

Yeah I've checked it but there is nothing noticable. The battery loses a lot of charge over night and when I was using it this morning for checking a newspaper's website I could just see the percentages drop. I think I'll just let it deplete completely this weekend and then give it a recalibrating charge and see how that goes. If that doesn't work I think I'll just do a factory reset because there is something off about my current setup.

Maybe your battery is just dying...
Check it with AccuBattery or Ampere what is its condition.

Hi,
I did the January OTA on my stock phone on Thursday however since the update mobile data no longer works. I am on a plusnet 3g sim in the UK which is band 1 wcdma, the phone shows it is connected via hpsa but no data services are working (chrome etc just say offline). I have taken the opportunity to upgrade my sim to 4g which will hopefully work but while I wait for my new sim to arrive can anymore confirm it they have also had this issue and any workarounds? Thanks.

I just hope it does more than just deliver the monthly security patch. Oreo is far from perfect yet

    Based on what ?

Btw majority of the people here doesn't realize how OTA works (pretty much the same as miui), they first push update to a small selection of users and beta testers, if there is some bug they don't push it further, until they solve whatever bug. When the update is ready (they can push several updates to a small selection of people, while the majority will wait) they push it to everyone. That was the case with oreo. And that's why you shouldn't force update by any method, then wait peacefully until the update is ready for everyone. Forcing something that isn't 100% ready by methods that aren't 100% safe will result by whining about millions of bugs and bashing Xiaomi for something that is user's fault.

Android 8.1 oreo is rolling out with june security patch

    Changelog

★ Security patch level updated to june 5 2018

    ★ improve stability and performance

★ The Power Menu is also an area where you would immediately*notice the visual changes

★ The search option at the top of the setting, unlike the button present earlier, has now blown into a full-fledged search bar

★ Also, you’ll notice that the notification panel and other things like some screen overlays have a slight tint of the color of the wallpaper you have. This is possible because of the new wallpaper colors API which lets apps send color information to the system UI

    ★ WiFi speed labels
It is one of the useful Android 8.1 features that many users would love. The list of available WiFi networks now shows whether the network is fast or slow by displaying ‘labels’ (Very fast, fast, OK, slow) below the name of the wireless network. This would help Android 8.1 users find fast WiFi networks with ease

The network labels can be disabled by visiting*Settings > Network & Internet > WiFi > WiFi Preferences > Advanced > Network rating provider. Choose*None

★ Another subtle change you’ll notice in Android 8.1 is in the status bar. The icons displayed in the status bar have rounded corners

★ Notifications shade has become translucent giving a slight peak of what’s behind it

★ Theme will change according to your wallpaper e.g dark for dark and light for light

★ Android 8.1 Oreo’s easter egg is an animated Oreo biscuit that turns into something else after several taps. You can check out what’s new this time by tapping the version number multiple times

★ Default app now show first in app & notification settings

★ Devices running Android 8.1 can now display the battery level of Bluetooth-connected devices such as headphones, speakers, etc. The battery status is visible in the Notifications panel, tied to the Bluetooth icon. The Bluetooth menu also shows the battery percentage of the devices

★ As a part of the Android 8.1 features set, the apps now can only play one notification sound per second. So, even if you receive 50 WhatsApp messages (for instance, when you connected to the network after a few hours), there will only be one notification sound for all of them

★ Android Oreo’s smart text selection has received improvements in copy and paste tasks. When you long press a text, it automatically highlights the relevant words and suggests further actions
