Well, i've spent 2 days taking photos with my new 4XL. I also have a iPhone 11 Pro, Pixel 3 and Note 10. First, ignore all the reviews that try to say the camera is not as good as others and hardware is bad, just like previous years. People will try to say iPhone is better and it is just simply not. My wife has had the pixel 2 and then 3. She decided to get the iPhone 11 pro from everyone raving about the camera. after the second day she is thinking of returning it and getting the pixel 4. When we both take photos she always prefers mine.
It seems it is very situational. If people are in the photos the iphone & note get very soft and less detailed. However, taking photos of scenery they all seem to be excellent in all areas with the Note really shining. However, I would not say one is far better than the other if I would not have the photos side by side.
iPhone really struggles with bright lights (like the sun from a window) in the background. Pixel and Note do far better. iPhone also struggles compared to the others with hair on portrait photos.
iPhone night mode does take a more detailed and more color accurate photo than pixel and note. But that is at a sacrifice of much more noise. This is the only mode I preferred iPhone photos.
If you are interested here is a Google photos album of some of the photos (just open Info box to see which camera took the photo) I know that Photos compresses...so what, that is what I see when I post them
Not a professional review (which to me can skew normal day use). As a note, most of them I touched the same focus point since I usually do that when I'm taking a photo with my phone. This also makes it a more fair comparison since they all focused on the same object.
