I've tested this only on Android 8.1. It is a module to enable permissive for only the things that I found denied in a log related to GCam. Maybe I did it the "wrong" way but documentation on this was hard for me to find. If someone, like
@Phoenix Wright, has any suggestions on how to make it more secure or better, feel free to let me know.
It should work for any modded GCam on a Pixel 1, 2, and 3. And again, it's completely optional. This just makes the modded GCam apps perform like the stock app, related to HDR+ Processing and/or other features like bokeh blur processing on the PVC for the Pixel 3.
As mentioned before, this is what you can find in a log to verify.
CAM_HdrPlusState: Using Hexagon
#and if it doesn't fail, you'll see this when capturing a photo
libgcam : [raw_finish.cc:726]: FinishRaw: FinishRawHalide succeeded on hexagon.
These messages only show after the app is unloaded from memory naturally or Force Closed. If you don't see those lines it's just using the CPU.
