On a separate note I've released HUR 5.2 with some small improvements, but it's in BETA only at the moment. WIfi Launcher have been also updated to address some issues, sorry that I've been radio silent on this thread for a while I'm working on quite a few thing in parallel....
For WiFi connection as more and more phones are running now Android 9 and 10 and because WiFI Direct can cause so many confusions, it will be probably dropped in upcoming releases.
On the positive side, I'm working to implement the official Android Auto WiFi protocol, however that won't be available for all. It will only work on headunits where the headunit has access to the BT and where there is one BT in the unit. For the official way to work, the device wich runs HUR, needs to have access and be able to control the BT handsfree hence this option not working on Nexus and other built in tablets. Also some (mainly older) Joying/XTrons/Eonon/etc units have 2 different BT adaptors one for handsfree and one for Torque and everything else. Those unit again wont work as the MAC address of the BT adaptors is different and the official AA WiFi way wont' work in this case. Current WiFi connection method will remain in place, just will be adding this new approach as well.
