I've got one of these phones, Samsung Galaxy Young, S6312, and while I'd like to eventually do a lot more with it, right now I'd simply like to be able to delete a lot of the Samsung apps that I never use, to make room for apps that I wish I had room to install.
From the reading I've done so far, I think this can be accomplished simply by "rooting" the phone. If so, is this the right place to ask how to do this?
I think my plan is to start at page 1 of this topic, and read the entire discussion. There's a lot of information here on installing ROM's, and at some point I want to do that as well. I know next to nothing about all this stuff, so maybe I'll just stick with "Cyanogenmod" which seems to be very popular.
(I bought this phone in India five months ago, and I've been VERY pleased with it. It packs a lot of phone into a very small device!)
