So if i ran fastboot oem lock and relocked the bootloader to update to the new radio's do i do the same HTC dev process to unlock the bootloader again?

You shouldn't need the key to unlock it the second time. I believe lock/unlock commands work without any other options once you have "unlocked" it the first time. I believe htcdev.com has a help issue on this.

Does unlocking the bootloader cause problems with downloading OTAs? If that is the case, is it possible to pull the update file from someones phone and update through the recovery? I don't know if this is all the same as it is on the OG Droid.

I have the HTC Evo 3d but since there is this thread about the unlock bootloader maybe the issue I'm having can be explained.

So on step 12 of the website it says to type the below:
C:\>fastboot flash unlocktoken C:\Unlock_code.bin

I do so and I get the correct output that the site displays.

So on step 12 of the website it says to type the below:
C:\>fastboot flash unlocktoken C:\Unlock_code.bin

I do so and I get the correct output that the site displays.
Which is:
C:\Android>fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
sending 'unlocktoken' <0 KB>...
OKAY [0.151s]
writing 'unlocktoken' ...
<bootloader> unlock token check successfull
OKAY [ 0.006s]
finished. total time: 0.158s

Step 13 reads:
"On your phone you will now see the disclaimer. Please read this carefully as this action may void your warranty"

However, I see no disclaimer appear on my phone. It stays on the fastloader hboot screen.

What's going on? Do I have to be not in the recovery fastloader screen and do that command when the normal os is showing? Or what?

Thanks if you can help.

EDIT: Just going to use an XDA thread to finish rather than the HTC site :D http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=20780879&postcount=1

Where the hell is step 11?

I just received my unlock code bin in the email and the site says to follow the instructions in the email. The link in the email simply links back to the first page of the unlocking process. It's an infinite loop!

HTCDEV.Com Worthless! Please help unlock BootLoader

Can someone please help me get my bootloader unlocked on my HTC Rezound? I have been trying for a week, and no luck. I have everything right. Tried it on Windows Vista and Mac OS X Lion, with Java and Android SDK loaded, and I am able to get the "Token" and I KNOW I am pasting the token in right, but HTCDEV.com will not accept the token. Error message says...

Error Code: Invalid Bootloader Token Length.
Error Reason: The submitted Token appears to be the wrong length and won\'t work.

I have tried it 20 some times, without any luck, here is what I am pasting in....

and no matter what, it wont send me the info I need to unlock my bootloader. I have been corresponding back and forth with HTC, with no luck so far. I Also tried the SuperTool, and maybe I'm doing something wrong, but SuperTool does NOTHING!? It will not generate a key.

Help Unlocking Bootloader please!!!!

Trying to unlock bootloader on my Rezound. NO LUCK AT ALL. Tried it on a Vista PC, and also on a Mac OS X Lion computer, both have android sdk, fastboot (fastboot-mac), and any time the terminal creates a token, htcdev.com says it is invalid. HTC has been of my help. Token I get is:

This from HTCdev.com:

Your token must be exactly the block of text that is highlighted in step 9. Do not copy the INFO or (bootloader) prefix, or the process will not register properly.

If that does not work, it’s possible your phone is using an old software version that does not have the unlock mechanism built in. Try upgrading your phone to the latest update (On your phone HOME > Menu > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now) and then try the unlock process again.

I have followed the steps on HTCDEV exactly, I have tried multiple things, tried different computers, Mac and PC, still no luck. I have been in contact with HTC, they say they will be calling me tomorrow. I wish they would just give me the stupid info I need to unlock my phone. Why make it so difficult?

why do you have "INFO" preceding every line??
remove them and you'll get the code.

your code is attached!

You can now unlock your rezound's bootloader at http://htcdev.com/.

Just follow the steps on htcdev.com, and at the last step you will have a factory reset. So, please make sure you do a backup before attempting this unlock trick. (Thanks to NilsP for pointing this out)

Bootloader unlock will grant perm root and possibility of flashing customized roms.

    Note: S-on remains

    BE AWARE:

bootloader unlock will VOID your rezound's WARRANTY, I am not responsible for any damage it may cause

    [INSTRUCTIONS]:

    [Prerequisites:]
    HTC Sync (Windows Only)
    HTC Super Tool
    Enable USB Debug on Rezound
Use Charge Only mode when connected to PC
    Exit HTC Sync on PC

    [Steps:]
    1. Go to HTCDEV website: http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/
    2. Click on "Begin Unlock Bootloader" (create a user if you don't have one)
    3. Use HTC Super Tool in the [Prerequisites] to generate your token. (Or, alternatively, follow the instructions step 1 through step 10 on htcdev.com)
    4. In step 10, when posting your token, make sure you remove the blanks preceding each line
    5. After you receive your Unlock_code.bin in email, follow step 11.
    6. Now your rezound should reboot and you have your bootloader unlocked.

Now you are unlocked. You can follow the following threads to obtain perm root, flash recovery, flash new kernel, and overclock.
[Guide] You are Unlocked. Now What?
[GUIDE] Super-noob guide to unlocking, rooting, and flashing Ziggys kernel

    7. After unlocking your bootloader, use this one to get perm root:
One Click Perm Root (Thanks to NilsP)

    8. Flash the recovery if you need.
    [Recovery] Amon Ra style vigor
    [Recovery]ClockworkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4

scrosler kindly provides a tool to flash the recovery or boot img.
    You can find it here

    9. Flash Deodexed ROMs:
    Clean ROM 1.0 from scrosler
    RezROM v1.0 Beta from lllboredlll

    Questions about flashing ROMs:
Possibility of flashing ROMs (Thanks to scrosler)

To uninstall the bloatware, try ROM Toolbox
    10
So, which root method is the best to use once we are freshly unlocked and returned to factory defaults?
    This one works good.

I think the ones we have on here now for "Temp Root" do it a little different file locations and confuses the phone.
    8
I think the folder is my problem. Everything else was nice and smooth. Where do I create this file? I don't have the 3 files . I was able to install the SDK package. But don't k.ow where to find the 3 files.
    Sent from my Rezound

For everyone that doesn't have/know how to work with the Android SDK, I've taken the files you need and added them to this zip file. It contains:
    ADB.exe
    AdbWinApi.dll
    AdbWinUSBApi.dll
    Fastboot.exe

This is all you will need to get unlocked...enjoy
    6
Were are the recoveries when we need them :D

    here:

    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1339679

    1. place the recovery.img (extracted from the zip) file in your c:\android folder (or whatever directory you used to unlock the bootloader)

    2. boot into fastboot, go to a command prompt (just like you did for bootloader unlock)

    3. use this command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

I ran this and now have AmonRa on my Rezound....finally!!!!
    6
    Epic!

    What about that AmonRa image?

I'm hopeful there will be a TWRP2.0 or CWM image made for the Vigor now.

Are you guys using HTC Super tool to perm root now?

    Should work.

I thought S-ON locked the recovery partition but I'll take your word for it. Amon-Ra is already up and running on developer Rezounds. So let's rock this puppy.

No, You can still flash recovery, system, data and boot. Nothing else. And you have to flash boot and reocvery using fastboot.

I should so a Q/A thread on this. I have been through it all with the Evo 3D. I will put up something tonight that helps everyone get where they need to be. At work now

Rock it? Oh yeah! You can count on this!

So, am I correct in stating that this will allow us to do everything but Flash Radios & Kernels (or is it just Radios)?

Radios, hboots, some other partitions you shouldnt be messing with.

So would we be able to flash kernels?

    Yes.
