bootanimation compatibility

can bootanim be used in miui rom? because in miui, bootanim has extension .mtz not .zip

This is the method I already tried:
-Copy app to /system/app
- Grant rw- r-- r-- permissions
- Restart

u need adb+drivers..if u have them then copy the .apk files into the same directory as adb and type the command

adb install appname.apk

..if u just copy them they will not install!

then read up index threads.. head over to the dev sectios/Q&A.. the answers are there.. don't expect to be spoon-fed here, esp over basic things that you could find the answers with a little more effort by using the search function..

ok i am in a predicament i deleted the genie widget on my stock rooted ics on my nexus s and tried to push the jb version into syste,/app but i cant install it and when i reboot i cant see it

Try restoring the stock and then install the new version (if its compatable it will install)then go to titanium backup app then search for the app n look for integrate update in options...
I'm not sure if this will work coz I don't have a device to test it!
