1) Root!
2) Open build.prop, make string 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1' , save, reboot.
I did but same problem ...force stopping.. (I'm using miui 8.5.2.0 Redmi 4 SD 435
whats app you was try it ? im on trying MIUI camera and i think thats feature (slow motion) isn't workingi tested and works great!
slow motion works only in SD resolution, works nice but yeah 480p, i think would be great if you can change the icon for a rounded one.
I use this Snapdragon Camera and find it quite OK.

The one in the OP, works well but you need to change the video quality to SD

Which camera app did you used for slow motion, I m using latest google camera but there's no slow motion. also i tried that mediaprofiles.xml changing,didn't worked. It actually dont have a option to change resolution to 480p also, minimum is 720p.

No Slow Motion Video Output with that.
It just shows that its a slow motion video but the output is not a slow motion video.
The output video can be fast or normal speed only (by the google photos app that is, there's not even a feature to change the speed in miui gallery and other video apps).

GREEN
OK it worked AFTER disabling camera 2 api but the video is all green when it works and sometimes it dont even work.

yeah that happened to me once, just close the app and start it again and works well every time at least for me, maybe rom related problem? i wish i know, sorry :highfive:
I am using the payed version of Camera Zoom, I really like this app. I used it on my previous phones as well (a.o. Oneplus one)/ I got a bit tired of all the camera issues on the custom roms I downloaded ............

If it still stops after enabling camera2api, make sure you use 5.x version of google camera mod.
Flash Clarity kernel. Better if you're on AOSP ROMs. Clarity kernel has camera patches for AOSP compatibility. Latest version of Google Camera HDR+ mod works flawlessly, at least on my RR 5.8.5 on Clarity kernel.
