Hi, very new user here. I managed to root my HTC One M7 and flash CM11 without any issue. The problem came when I tried to flash a stock ROM to recover SMS backed up using Sense messaging (long story, couldn't find a way of reading Sense's .hbk file without returning my phone to factory..)

I know that with such limited understanding of the process I put myself in, I should have just left it alone, but I didn't and now I'm here!

Please help...

Reboot to fastboot and type "fastboot erase cache".

Hope this helps

Here is a guide for your problem made by @nkk71.
http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2739126
Read it to fully understand it.
Only then start the procedures.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, though unfortunately I can't get into recovery even after completing the first set of fastboot commands (fastboot devices, flash recovery, erase cache and then reboot bootloader). All that happens when I select 'recovery' is a loop straight back into fastboot USB, with the 'active cmdline overflow' error. I understand how this has occurred and I also see how I could fix the problem if I could get into recovery, but this is where I'm getting stuck. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I have now managed to access recovery by doing the following:

1) Download this: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4qdsfbEDD7UVmRYWG50Nnl4WVE/edit - it is CWM 6.0.2.8 and it seems to be the only recovery image I've actually got to work so far.
2) fastboot erase cache
3) fastboot flash recovery CWM_6.0.2.8_M7.img
4) fastboot erase cache
5) fastboot reboot-bootloader

Then entered recovery. From here, I'm not sure what to do...

EDIT 2: The fact remains that I'm still S-ON with HBOOT 1.57. This looks like a job for @cschmitt or @nkk71 perhaps..?

Hi all,

yes, I can confirm, that S-ON with HBOOT 1.57.... does not work :(. Any idea, please? I've tried probably every combination with fastboot commands and differned recovery images, still no solution ..

Have you tried this tool by dexter93? I have, but . . . "Device not found" So no luck with testing this. (As I am new here and not allowed to post web links yet, I post it this way.)

[UNBRICK][BETA] HTC Unbricking Project

Good luck!
