Are the Chinese versions *7.1.1x* "release" versions or "beta" versions and also: Do they include other languages, like English (to pick one out of a hat) ;;)?

I realize there'd be radio problems, etc, but am thinking of ways around it if each version includes all language capabilities.

Thanks.

Hi there! Yesterday i flashed B360 to my FRD-L09, and while trying to get twrp and root working things went south. Eventually I've wiped the data partition, performed a factory reset and flashed a b360 data package from one of the forum threads via twrp. This resulted in an non-fully functional system (couldn't use security tab in settings, updater wasn't even there, themes didn't work correctly etc.) I've tried to use the unbrick feature of the multitool to revert to B131, but it resulted in the system not booting at all. I've tried relocking the bootloader to be able to use the stock eRecovery or hisuite, but instead I've got the phone hanging on the blue screen with honor logo. I can restart it, but it won't respond to fastboot or recovery key combination. Is it a brick? :(

Were you ever able to get into fastboot or recovery?

Yes. First i lost recovery when i flashed the stock recovery with the mt-tool. I lost fastboot when i relocked the bootloader.

EDIT: Once the battery drained overnight, I was able to put it in fastboot. I've noticed that when i use the unbrick functionality the writing of 'cust' fails. Any way to force a full reflash of update.app? HiSuite says my device is unsupported and mt-tool doesn't seem to do the trick, unless the problem is in the software i'm trying to flash (L09C432B131).

I would try to flash TWRP in fastboot and use CM just so you can have a semi-working phone until you figure out the problem. Wish I could be of more help, but I'm a noob with the Honor. Hope you get it figured out, good luck.

Thanks for your help. Actually this was what I tried to do after fastboot started to work again. Unfortunately it's stuck on "patching system image unconditionally" and i can't wipe or format most partitions. It's something to do with f2fs vs ext 4 i think. Maybe I'll try various unoficial twrp releases. Anyway, I'm optimistic that I'll figure it out. At least it's not a brick. BTW, wiping entire internal storage is not a good idea with honor 8, am i right?

The purpose of formatting the /data partition (and in turn internal storage) is merely to remove the /data partition encryption. I would suggest trying the Rollback package that Huawei offers to see if that does anything.

Friends! I have great news for you! On December 8, we launched an open test of our updated Multi-Tool 8 utility for Huawei devices.
Over these days, we have fixed most of the critical bugs, and now we are ready to share our brainchild with the whole world. Like the previous MT7.1 project, the new utility has an online database, which our team replenishes with new images and other useful things. This project has great opportunities. Help us with your feedback, make a really good and convenient tool.
