Hi.

I bought a New Sony Xperia Z1 that came with Android 4.4.2 KitKat installed.I have been trying to find a way to root the phone in order to install SDFix to remove the External SD card limitation (if there is any other way to remove the limitation please let me know). My problem is that I have followed instructions as to how to do the downgrade to root and still have no good results (Newbie here) or only see posts for devices that were previously rooted or had JB installed :(. Can someone guide me in the right direction please?

Have the tools

22 times this week

Flash a FTF ending .534 (From the FTF mega collection thread) using flashtool (Flashtool.net)
Install dual recovery (Cross development thread) (no need to root)
Flash SuperSU (From chainfire)
Flash a 4.4 pre rooted rom (Development thread)

I have the FTF .534 (Android 4.2.2)
I have the flashtool
I have the Z1 drivers
I don't know how to install the "Dual recovery" where is the thread?
I downloaded SuperSU
I have the 4.4.2 Room but its a zip that requires TWRP (I think and since phone is not rooted, I cant use it.

I have never rooted a phone this is kinda new to me

Both questions are answered in my original post

dual recovery is in the cross development thread.
You do not need root to install it, it will install CMW, Philz and TWRP recovery...
