Seriously, why tease us? I considered getting the N4 to be able to get the Ubuntu OS. This would make me very happy.

Doesn't worth to even try that. Ubuntu phone is deceiving right now. It's far from being complete. It's pretty much like having a video on your phone. You have contact you don't know, there is no cell connectivity, you have wrong account information, there is no way to change these informations. Only to change the timezone you need to enter command lines.

Well as a first stab at a full blown mobile OS, i wouldn't expect to much out of the mobile side of things since it's all new territory for Canonical at this point. But give them time, and i'm sure they will have some interesting stuff to throw into the mobile OS market. What really interests me is being able to run Ubuntu desktop natively on our hardware, which then turns your mobile phone into a mobile PC that you can take with you everywhere you go, all you need to carry with you is your bluetooth keyboard and or mouse and dock it with your Monitor at home, then dock it with your monitor at work and all the while staying off your work place network. Or just take it to your buddies place and plug into his TV set and fire up some Netflix or play some rips.

As mobile phones get more and more powerful, the phone becomes more and more viable as a replacement to the traditional PC. I think by years end, this generation of hardware will already prove powerful enough to replace netbooks, or low end laptops.

This stuff definitely excites me! :good:

It won't totally be the same thing. The code for application is currently compiled and made for x86 cpu. Phone cpu is an arm cpu which doesnt use the same set of instruction. I definitively want to see more from that project, but from the point it is right now, there is no reason to want to try it at any price.

Solved

Has anyone had issues with LTE on Bell with this ROM? I've been using (along with CM10.1 for short spurts) for a while now and have had zero issues, but haven't had LTE since first flashing it. I originally had to add APN settings for Bell, which gave me data, but it only runs at HSPA+. I've made some minor changes to the build.prop as Houstonn suggested earlier in the thread, but that didn't do it. Anyone have any suggestions? If it makes a difference, I dont' get LTE on CM10.1 either. I'm sure that I'm in an LTE area as it was working without issue on stock. Honestly, it's not a deal breaker, I'd still choose this ROM without LTE over stock with it, but I'd love to have my cake and eat it too.

Apparently this one is on me (and Bell, but this isn't the place to complain about them). Had the phone in for repairs and they switched the SIM out with a non-LTE one. Brought it in for a new SIM today and booted up with LTE right away.

Would either you, houstonn, or anyone who already has it mind putting up a mirror of the latest canadian version. The current host just isn't working for me at all.

Hi everyone,

Coming from this custom stock http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2098777

I did a clean install for the ROM. Everything worked fine.

When I tried to encrypt the phone (necessary for work), it reboots, then constantly says: "unfortunately the system ui has stopped". After which encryption fails.

While I can go back to my previous stock ROM, it would be great if encryption would work on for this ROM.

Has anyone had success with device encryption?

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I just noticed yesterday that weird bug - - if I shut down my phone the battery will be empty when I power up the next time, and my phone will take more than an hour of charging to start again. First time I notice that behavior.

It happened first time two days ago, I had about 5 % battery left so powered down. Phone did not wake until charged for an hour or so. Then I tried again last night, this time with a 40 % battery. Did the same, no start this morning until lots of time on charger.

Is it my battery's phone that would be faulty, or is it a strange bug in the software? I read that thread since day one, I don't remember reading about that ' Sleep of Death' variation.. - - I'm on V. 03, on telus ( koodo), everything is working fine besides that ( oh I do have to re-enter the wifi passwords each time but I'm fine with it)

Any infos will be appreciated

I guess I can assume that when I was making the roms and it always stuck for me was cause I already had mine all setup properly for all the phones I was flashing..

I'll make flashable zips for you guys. I need the build.prop from an ATT the someone has changed and worked..
I'll do the same for Rogers and Telus

and for SaskTel, someone can send me their build prop.. I am very busy working on aosp we have a bunch of merges and hopefully having fixed a bunch of things.

It has been time comsuming trying to please every variant. SnowLeopard is gonna work on things here on for ATT to maybe finalized everything for you guys since I don't own an att.. I've been building these roms blind and been trying as much as I can so you all can enjoy what LG should be giving us already. Please be patient and just report fixes and certain bugs.. just please search and don't double post bugs we already know as I hate cluttering up this thread..

As for Sprint.. I know I didn't post in your fourms.. I just didn't want to take any attention away from whatever is going on over there. I don't frequent sprint and att forums. Please let me know of all your findings of bugs so I can further provide you with a better release. It's hard working blind.

There's been a few requests for the LG Backup App so I took it from the International version and made a CWM zip.
Fair warning - this is the first time I did anything like this so feel free to backup before applying it, but its just a file copy and I installed it without problem on my OG running the debloated version.... or you can just take the .apk and .odex files out of the zip and manually copy them to the /system/app folder and reboot.

I also extracted the apks for Polaris Office, the super awesome Quick Translator, and the dictionary for the translator (i think?), which were also requested at some point.
