When i try command fastboot flash boot boot.img its stuck at waiting for devise

Sent from my Desire S using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Make sure you are in fastboot mode first by running the command:

Code:
adb reboot-bootloader

Then once in fastboot mode re-run the command you were trying to run.

HTC one X - brick ( not powering)

will I be able to use this tool while my HTC one x is not powering !!

what i think is that my HTC boot-load file needs to be re-installed, any step by step instruction is appreciated..!

I have been searching through the forum but did not succeed to finde anything that might be of help.

( what i have tried : Hard reset, normal Rest, normal powering... In wall or PC charger more than 5 hours... none of these works..... )

while in charger no light is on and will not power.

Any ideas ( dont suggest to visit HTC dealer as there is no warranty now).

thanks in advance ppl.

To answer your question about my tool, the tool will not work if the device isn't powered on as it needs to communicate with the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) or Fastboot mode in order to function. If you can't acess either ADB or Fastboot because the device won't power on then the tool will not work. Unfortunately, if your device is not powering on at all, no charging LED is coming on, and if you go to power your device on and it doesn't vibrate, then I'm afraid you have hard bricked your device and JTAG repair would be your best option since you said you have no warranty. For the JTAG repair I would recommend checking out this guide for JTAG repair on the HTC ONE X.

Hi Shimp, great tool, very handy. :good:

Will you be updating the app whenever there are new fastboot/adb versions released?

You can try pushing a ROM to your device by first opening up a command window where you installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot too. Next, run the following command:

Code:
adb push ROM.zip /mnt/sdcard/ROM.zip

The ROM should now be on your sdcard you can then boot into the custom recovery you are running and flash the ROM you pushed to your sdcard.

Version 1.1.2 Released

Version 1.1.2 Released

I have updated Minimal ADB and Fastboot to include the creation of a desktop icon, start menu folder shortcut, and quick launch icon (All of which are optional) that when selected will automatically navigate to the directory you installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot to and open a command window for you to issue ADB and Fastboot commands. For example if you installed the tool to "D:\Minimal ADB and Fastboot" clicking on the shortcut would automatically open a command prompt window in the "D:\Minimal ADB and Fastboot" directory which would then enable you to easily issue commands. Thank you for all the continued support :).

I haven't tested it on Vista as I don't have access to a machine running Vista (Or a virtual machine of Vista), technically it should work for XP and up. What you can do since it you said it installed is navigate to manually navigate to the directory where you installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot to then right click from within that directory select "open command window here". Once the command window opens you should be all set to run commands. Let me know if you still need help or have any more questions :).

Am using a new Win 8 laptop. The program installs fine but won't run. I get "path_cmd.exe has stopped working" message. From file Explorer I can Shift and click to open a cmd window from the install folder and ADB commands all work fine with my phone doing it that way.

Do you have an idea of how I should get your app working properly please?

I recommend running the program as administrator and if that doesn't work try running it in compatibility mode as Windows 7. Also what are you running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 8? A couple of other people have mentioned it's working fine on 64-bit Windows 8 Pro, because I don't have a copy of Windows 8 I unfortunately can't test it myself on Widows 8. Let me know how the above suggestions work and I can try and help you work through it :).

I have windows 8.1 preview x64 and running as Administrator still gives a path_cmd.exe error.

your install runs fine though and adb has no problem finding my phone. nice package anyway. You can just open a command prompt to the window by going to the install dir and holding shift down, right click and select open command prompt here. Then you can adb away. Thanks for the package. I HAAATTEE downloading the entire android sdk and I just rebuilt my system 2 days ago, so you are SAVIORS!!!

    Introduction

ADB and Fastboot are arguably two of the most indispensable tools used when working with Android devices. If you really want to modify, debug, and tweak along with their countless uses in rooting, and other procedures ADB and Fastboot are a must for any Android device owner. Typically if you want to install ADB and Fastboot you have to download and setup the Android SDK (If you really want to learn about Android Development I highly recommend downloading and installing the full Android SDK from here), but this can be unnecessary for people who just want to install ADB and Fastboot. To simply the process I created a windows installer that will install the latest version of ADB and Fastboot for you quickly and easily. The total installation of Minimal ADB and Fastboot is around 2 MB in size (Compared to the 90+ MB size of the Android SDK Tools, and 425+ MB size of the complete Android SDK) making it very lightweight.

    Features

    • Easily Install ADB and Fastboot with a simple to use installer
    • Lightweight, total installation around 2 MB in size
    How to Install

    Prerequisites
    • Your device is plugged into your computer
    • You have USB Debugging enabled under Developer Options (Note: This may be listed as ADB Debugging on some ROM's)
    • You have installed the necessary drivers and your computer is recognizing your device

    1. Download the Minimal ADB and Fastboot setup.exe from here
    2. Follow the Installers instructions and select where you would like to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too (For simplicity I choose to install it to the Desktop)
    3. After you have chosen where to install Minimal ADB and Fastboot too select whether you would like to create a Start Menu Folder or not for the instalation
    4. Once you have chosen where to install it to and if you want to create a Start Menu Folder select the install option
    5. After the Installation Wizard has completed you can select to start Minimal ADB and Fastboot
    6. You can also start Minimal ADB and Fastboot by navigating to the Start Menu Folder you choose to create during installation or the desktop shortcut you choose to create and selecting Minimal ADB and Fastboot
    7. You should now see a command window open, with the command window open you can now issue ADB and Fastboot commands to your device

For more information on issuing commands to your device using ADB and Fastboot I would recommend taking a look at this guide on ADB and this guide on Fastboot.
