Would you still get a transformer if it doesn't have GPS? In many recent reviews of the US model, I don't see any mentioning of GPS included.

I hope it's not the case. If not it would be a shame to not include a small model for a successful sale.

Wondering about this as well?
Anandtech specifically mentions NO GPS:

ASUS, i was dying for this to come out and would have been there when the doors open at 9am on 4/26 to pick this up, but sorry, no GPS, no sale...

i think i would still get it.

the camera i don't care about, but the GPS i would be disappointed if it was missing, especially if they launched another build in a few weeks/months that did include it.

I'd still be getting it. I've had a tegra 2 since november and never once needed gps. I have an android phone which is a much better form factor for gps.

I see why people would be unhappy, but I dont see it affecting adoption much.

Saw the androidcentral's review. They did stress that it has GPS.

I'm getting an international version anyway (Singapore pre-order for about $570 with keyboard), just hoping that the different SKUs play nice with different ROMs. If not, I may swap to a US version. Rather take community support over Asus's warranty any day.

Guys...relax. It has GPS.

On the ASUS's website it says it has GPS.

On Android Central's review (published today) it says it has GPS. I already linked to that article in another thread, so you can look that one up yourselves.

How did you preorder it from singapore?

If this makes you feel any better... On Android Central's specifications page, it has several footnotes. Footnote "1" states:
Configurations and Applications offered for the Eee Pad Transformer may vary based upon SKU, Country, and Locale. Functionality, release dates and specifications are subject to change.

However, if you look at the specs, "1" is only listed after "Storage" and "Applications," not "Sensors" which includes GPS.

I'm done humoring the conspiracy theorists now.

Just because we are concerned doesn't make us conspiracy theorists..no malice towards ASUS, just dissapointment.
That said, if it does have GPS (and I hope it does), it's mine! :)

Dan Krizanek AnandTech.com says that there is no GPS, even though Asus's official specs say there is. Is it true?

You gotta remember, PR people dont always have the right info. GPS is GPS, maybe they are referring to a program to run it on... either way I'm thinking maybe you should not pick one of the first run transformers just to make sure

It should have GPS and probably will have GPS.

I've done my share of customer service and know that most reps that don't know, will guess. Not a lot of them will say "ummm, I really dont know".

Not having a GPS though would be a huge disappointment as the Google map software already integrates navigation features.

What I'm more concerned about is, why the heck did they remove the "rotate lock" lever in their production model. Their demos had them - right beneath the volume button.

How did the rest of you interpret that? No turn by turn navigation (through google or something else?) or no GPS, or both?
