EDIT: Followed Post 4186 and reflashed, error went away...flash seems successful. Thankyou!

Here's what I see:
BaseBand: P1000XXJPZ
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-gd1242c7 (blinky-ghost@cyanogenmod #1)
Memory: 488 MB
CM Version: 9-20120427-NIGHTLY-p1
Build No: IMM76D

Everything works so far!! Wow ICS is awesome on the tab :)

Glad to see that method that I posted worked for you

I've just upgraded from HumberOS (non MTD) without wipe: all worked well, all my old applications and data are still here.

Just 2 little problems:
1. Bluetooth can't work properly. Sometimes it does not activate at all, sometimes it activates but no data transfer...
2. Automatic backlight still does not work.

Bye

I believe something's wrong with a makefile for the kernel.Trying to make the kernel (or the ROM) throws the following error.

This should work in folder kernel/samsung/p1, but it doesn't. It worked fine yesterday.

I have problems with wifi. I often lose signal. I started having problems when, in an old no-mtd rom (AOKP), I installed new wifi drivers by humberos (kernel 20120325). I then reported the tablet to the stock rom --> Overcome kernel --> I wiped data & dalvik-cache--> i installed last mtd CM9 nightly build, but the problem persist...
I have a GSM Tab (p1000).

This is the exact problem i'm facing, wifi signal on the old wifi driver was so stable, this new driver loses wifi connection when wifi signal is weak.(1 or two bars in status bar wifi signal indicator)
I sent a PM to Humberto and asked him if its possible for him to make the old driver as a flashable zip file, but seems like he hasn't seen my PM.
Humberto, or any other Devs, please help!

Why does Tmobile give only Edge on this? Used my 4G Prepaid sim card on the tab...is there a way to change some settings and get higher 3g or 4g speeds?

Change dpi to 240 reboot and then install swype then change dpi back to 160

That worked like a charm! Thankyou

you are talking about tmo us? you will have to make a choice if you want telephony or 3g (by choosing a specific modem)...

You mean download the Tmobile 4G Modem from here?

There is a thread with some Roto modem switcher, and it contains 2 .bin files, 2G and 3G (2G for calling, 3G for... 3G).

I don't know if the modem switcher itself is usable, but in any case, you can take either .bin file from that package, and flash it in odin or heimdall.

Edit: Actually, disregard this... there might be another method for modems on CM9

Sorry for delay!

I got your PM.

We have a branch with an initial BCMDHD wifi driver port made by @pawitp.

So, I will back to work on this port and maybe we solve wifi issues.

Greetings from Brazil!

No 3G or GPS

Just flashed the latest nightly 20120427 and was amazed to see the camera works fine. WiFi also works fine as it did in previous version but 3G and GPS has stopped working (both these worked fine before).
Model: GT-P1000
Baseban version: Unknown
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-gd1242c7-dirty
CyanogenMOD: 9-20120427-NIGHTLY-p1

I had to reflash the Kernel a few times before I got a boot as it kept booting into ClockworkMOD. But seems to be booting fine now and quite stable. Just GPS and 3G nor working.

From a previous screenshot I see I was on Kernel: 2.6.35.7 SGT7-ICS-TE4M#20120410

I did see the link to download modem files and flashed the JPZ modem file. No errors shown. But when I reboot it still shows no Baseband Version. I see I did previously have P1000XXJPZ running as my baseband version.

You should have restocked, as it was said a thousand times. Do restock and you will be fine...

I've nuked the whole project, and started from scratch. This time I could create the ROM without any problems.

unzip the modem zip, copy the modem.bin to /radio and you will see baseband in 5 mins

Battery drain

Battery consumption seems to be rather heavy in the recent builds..specially while using internet and browser. Yesterday -after updating to the nightly built of 27th- in 4 hours (out of which for almost one hour it was not used at all and rest of the time only moderately used) battery came down from 100% to 61%. During that time, I did not play any games or video.

I suggest you wipe battery stat and charge to 100% in one go
I did that and my battery life is much better than humberOs build 070312

I also think that the default voltage setting maybe to low, yesterday I put my tab at a bed and leave it for 2 hours and when I get back its off, almost like bricked. I tried charging it and it wont up, (after counting my piggy bank) take the chargers off and try to turn it on for the last time and its up :p

no undervolt done (I did using latest BML build and latest humberOs kernel resulting in brick like condition, which after I clear all undervolt setting I get a normal working tab)

This is a stable Build of the current state of CyanogenMod 9 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
CM9 is based on latest AOSP sources plus some useful tweaks and features.

What is MTD (for epic, but its the same for all Samsung devices - except the ROM links ofcourse) http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1387334

Please refrain from submitting bug reports for any build not released by us - report em to whom u got the build from

We'll release new builds when we feel like doing so, although we do keep our sources updated all the time!

Known Issues + Useful info :
USB Tethering won't work in windows (works in ubuntu, untested on OSX)
Internal sd is /mnt/sdcard, and external is /mnt/emmc
USB Host works with a Y cable as the tab doesn't supply power, doesn't with the standard Samsung Adapter for the new tabs.

    Official Nightlies : http://get.cm/
    p1 : http://get.cm/?device=p1 [GSM Tabs]
    p1c : http://get.cm/?device=p1c [CDMA Tabs]
    Modems :
    p1 [GSM] : http://goo.gl/EjHq5 (Flash via CWM)
    p1c [CDMA] : http://goo.gl/Dhmjl (Flash via Odin)

    READ THIS BEFORE FLASHING
^It's for the epic but it's pretty much the same thing except the ROM links, and the only ROMs having MTD now are CM9 based ROMs - no MTD on GB

Only way to revert to a normal ROM now is flashing a stock Samsung ROM by odin (with repartition checked)

How to Flash the above zips :

You need to restock your tab if you are running an old MTD build, (only if /system isn't 406 mb, check it by the command `df system` or use an app (such as root explorer) )
IF you are coming from a FSR (STL/BML) ROM (aka Samsung ROM - anything else than the latest CM9 builds / AOKP builds, i.e. any GB ROM, no need to restock)
IF you are coming from a froyo ROM, you need to flash a stock GB ROM first, follow the guide below :

    Restocking :
Follow the team overcome restock guide [http://www.teamovercome.net/p1000/?page_id=17], and completely restock your tab.
Once you've flashed it, reboot into download mode again and flash any kernel with recovery (any non-MTD kernels from humberos.com.br, or this forum, for your tab model)
After you've flashed the kernel, reboot into recovery, and this time, install the zip you just downloaded from CyanogenMod servers.
Install Google Apps if you want (gapps-ics-* from goo.im) [optional]
Reboot and enjoy your tab :)

    Normal install :
You need to have a kernel with CWM Recovery
Get the zip from the above download links
Put the zip on your sdcard, reboot into recovery, and install the zip
It'll reboot a few times during the install, that's normal :)

    Sources :

    CyanogenMod : https://github.com/CyanogenMod
SGT7 (based off CyanogenMod sources with a few tweaks of our own) https://github.com/sgt7

All device tress (p1, p1c and p1-common) and kernel tress (p1 and p1c) have been merged into the CyanogenMod tree now, if you want to submit a change/patch, use cm code-review [http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Gerrit]

How to get the sources :
    Setup Android Build Environment (http://source.android.com)
    Code:
    mkdir ~/cm9
    cd ~/cm9
    repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b ics
(Type in your name and email address when asked)
    Code:
    repo sync
(^^This'll take a while, as ~7GB of sources are downloaded initially)

    How to build :
    Code:
    source build/envsetup.sh
    cd device/samsung/p1 ; ./extract-files.sh
    brunch p1
Replace p1 with p1c for CDMA variants.
Building may take a long time depending on your machine, might range from a few minutes to many hours
After the build is done, navigate to ~/cm9/out/target/product/p1
The zip you'll be looking for would be update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-p1-UNOFFICIAL-signed.zip

If you want to build just the kernel, type the below commands
    Code:
    source build/envsetup.sh
    make out/target/product/p1/boot.img

If you want just the kernel - u'll get it in the same folder, boot.img
    Flash it with heimdall
heimdall flash --kernel ~/cm9/out/target/product/galaxytab/boot.img --recovery ~/cm9/out/target/product/galaxytab/boot.img

^^The above instructions were for building a clean CyanogenMod build for p1, without any changes we did to the sources (mainly frameworks and some apps)

IF you want to build that, sync from https://github.com/sgt7/android.git instead of CyanogenMod, and then build using the same commands
    38
    I got some news!

    https://plus.google.com/115013390614274076135/posts/CcmArQkDDXn

    Official builds coming soon!

But, till then, i suggest the kangers not to sync, as i'll be changing stuff upstream which might break the build(mainly vendor/samsung, device is now p1 and p1c)

So, dont repo sync until i give a heads up(or remove vendor/samsung from your manifest)

And, don't try to build p1 atm (uploading it in a while) - Can build the good old galaxytab fine, just don't try to build p1 or you'll be on your own (you'll know why soon)
