Re: |KERNEL| SaberKernel_13.4 ||3.0.61||OC-1900mhz|| -->2|6

Will have to forgive me for not reading the entire thread to see if this was brought up or not... Running jedi xpx and latest kernel my gyroscope was going crazy in the camera app.... Couldn't decide if it was in landscape or portrait. Installed the factor kernel and it stopped. Complete wipe and reload of jedi has it doing the same thing... Install factory kernel and it stops again

Anyone having this same issue or just an issue I had? Makes a difference if I continue with this kernel or go back to some previous ones I have tried. Sorry for the quote post but didn't get a single response.

Did you try to run the gyro calibration already? Settings > Motion > Advanced Settings > Gyro Calibration

Re: |KERNEL| SaberKernel_13.4 ||3.0.61||OC-1900mhz|| -->2|6

Tried re flashing the kernel doing as conservative an approach as possible.
Wipe cache and dalvik
Flash the kernel
Power off completely
Boot in to system
Wait 30 minutes, not touching anything.
Full power off.
Boot in to system and let it sit not touching for 30 minutes.
Restart phone let sit for 30 minutes, then start using it.

Still having Max cpu frequency issues :(

Also I have found something that may be a coincidence or maybe not. It seems to fix itself after 10 minutes

Try System Tuner or CPU Master to set frequencies. Plus it's kind of hard to gauge usage over an 11 second or minute span...

Download one of those (they have free versions)... TWRP wipe cache/dalvik, install kernel, wipe cache/dalvik, boot up, wait 5 minutes, set frequency in one of the above mentioned cpu control aps, set to apply on boot, full power off, remove battery, wait 5 minutes, re-insert battery, boot up, run a battery of diagnostics at it, let it rest for 10-15 minutes, watch youtube for a bit, do real world things on it for a bit, and then check time in state.

Also... Do you have an CPU profiles in place?

do you suggest applying the CPU boot settings "on boot completed" or "init.d script"

---------- Post added at 03:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:35 PM ----------

Lol those steps are very unnecessary..

oh trust me I know. I just have tried so many things that I was thinking that by doing 30 minute breaks it'll surely give it enough time to sink in!!! haha

Now i'm just sitting around with my battery out for 5 minutes to finish...

What kind of diagnostics are you suggesting?

No i don't have any CPU profiles in place.

Just run something like Antutu, quadrant, maybe a video benchmark... then do some real world stuff like watch youtube and browse... then you can check out how much time in state the cpu is in over a good amount of different tasks.

Re: |KERNEL| SaberKernel_13.4 ||3.0.61||OC-1900mhz|| -->2|6

Ok followed directions exactly. Same sort of issue. It stays at max cpu on all cores for about 10 minutes before scaling down. Is this a common issue? What do the first 10 minutes of processing look like on other people's phones?

Ya it looks like yours isn't having the same issue. I wouldn't really care except for the fact that it drains battery and makes the phone really hot which I know is not the best. It's fine after those first 10 minutes but it almost seems like it is forcing a version of performance for 10 minutes before going back to normal

What is your phone temp? Mine usually sits around 37C. And it peaks for 10 min at 1.6Ghz for you only after reboot then fine after until the next reboot?

This may help to give you an idea of what I deal with. This is a result of me watching my phone in System Tuner for over half an hour and taking screenshots. You can see the Up-time on the left (most of the spikes in cpu load are me taking screenshots)

Note how it is maxing the cpu frequency on the graph pretty much all the way until the 3rd screenshot (taken at 12:42) where at around the 10 to 11 minute mark, it starts fluctuating down. the last two images show the breakdown of state times over the whole test.
