If it's supported by your system, connect both devices and change MTP or... to MSC option in one device, then you will have the mounted folder in the other device. My both Android 9 and Android 10 devices have USB OTG. It works great with USB flash drive or external SSD.
But if an Android device is connected via USB OTG it doesn't work. Your tips doesn't work.
It does not appear in MiXplorer, not even with the built-in USB OTG custom driver. Only the standard Android files come.
Another user has connected the 2 Android devices directly to the USB-C cable and the problem is the same. https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=81568803&postcount=31960
That's why the question if it worked for you with USB OTG? You said yes. Which Android devices have you connected via USB OTG?
Can you make a screenshot of how it looks like in MiXplorer?
@HootanParsa
Can MiXplorer supports two Android devices together via USB-C cable directly or via USB OTG adapter?
Too old! What about this build?
It's the one from Play Store, last update: 23.02.2019.
What is the files extension? It's the one from Play Store, last update: 23.02.2019.
Edit: Thanks for the new version but the issue remains the same.
Suggestion:
I think it would be nice to have some kind of checkbox next to the text fields (or something similar) which, when checked, NULLs the contents of this field when hitting the "Save" button.

*Could we get the ability to filter folders by custom text input (I'm currently only seeing a list of preselected filters for base file types like images, videos, apps, etc)? Solid Explorer has this ability and I used it all the time. It was great to be able to quickly filter a folder for a few letters in filenames, like "DSC_" or "IMG_", for example, then select-all, and then additionally, once you'd select-all'ed those filtered results, you could then change the custom filter text to something else and then select-all those filtered results, adding them to the already selected results from the first filter run-through.
*Finally, would it be possible to add a more direct way of bookmarking/unbookmarking things, like perhaps adding it into the immediate/first press-and-hold context menu of selected items? Currently it takes a few clicks/menus to get to it, unless I'm overlooking something.
What Android devices do you use? I have also tested with other current Android 9 or Android 10 devices (e.g Huawei P20/P30, Google Pixel 4, Redmi Note 8) from friends and got the same results as I said before.
What exactly do you mean system? Which system can do this? Is this an generally Android problem or an app problem?

FYI System = Operating System (Android version and ROM variant). To use OTG you need all of the following to support it: Hardware in the device, Android version, and ROM. From your descriptions it sounds as if your device supports OTG but in order to simplify your testing you should figure out OTG with External SD card first, then after you get OTG SD working then move on to cabled connections. If you do decide to play with cables then enable Settings > More settings > OTG... but seriously get OTG SD working in MiX first if you’ve not already done so.
Ahh, MiX's USB OTG enabled was required for this but also, there may be something wrong with MiX's access request for the attached device.
Device 1 = Moto X4, LOS 15, Magisk
Device 2 = Moto G4, LOS 14 Magisk
Device 1 > Device 1 OTG adaptor > USB standard to USB micro > device 2.
Upon initial connection or after disabling/enabling MTP.
MiX Access prompt for device 2 drives appears on device 1.
OK has no effect, which (?because MTP not yet enabled on device 2?).
Enable MTP (file transfer) on device 2 .
Files app pops up on device 1 and makes MiX access request disappear.
Disable MTP on device 2
Access prompt appears on device 1 but OK and remember has no effect
Lather, rinse, repeat.
In effect there is no way for me to invoke and interact with the access request while MTP is enabled on other device. Selecting the remember check-box in the MiX access request has no apparent effect. The same thing occurs when the roles of devices are reversed (and appropriate OTG adaptors and USB cables swapped in).
Like I said before. I have tested it several times on different systems and hardware. Also your tips with OTG with External SD card first etc.. It doesn't work. The other Android phone is not displayed in MiXplorer.
Of course I have tested with different USB OTG adapters and different USB-C cables. None of the tips from the users here helped.
No matter if entry-level, mid-range or current high-end Android phones all have the same result. It makes no difference. I have also tested with LineageOS 16 and not only with Android system from the OEM.
So I wanted to know which Android devices @HootanParsa and Android version uses, that it works.
I get exactly the same results. First the Files app appears and then this Mix request, but if I allow it, nothing is displayed in MiXplorer.
Neither the internal storage nor anything similar of the other Android device. Nothing at all. Like I said before. And also confirmed by you several times.
I don't think it's an app problem. This is probably a general Android system problem, as there is no general support for this approach. The Android system developers should add this feature.
MiXplorer is not the only app that can't do that, but also Solid Explorer, Total Commander, X-plore etc..
Man, you are the best in matter of patience, you are the voice to keep the balance in this thread, a much needed user, keep it up here and in the real life.Stop...listen to what is being said to you... please. I'm not disagreeing with you or misunderstanding your circumstance. In fact I experience a similar issue and have provide a detailed report to demonstrate it. The details we have both provided will help HootanPArsa give us an answer about whether or not we should see the directly attached device that is visible in Files in MiXplorer as well.
Apart from the question above about whether or not we should see the directly attached device in MiXplorer, you also seem to be having an issue with USB OTG drives. For this you should try logging an attempt to attach and view such an SD drive with MiX. Instructions for logging are here: https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=65157367&postcount=7.
Wait for HP if you like but, it would be more helpful if you provided full details about one or a few of the devices. Logs go a long way here as well. The type of details needed are described in that logging FAQ post.
You may be right that the direect cable stuff is just an unavoidable limitation but HP said it should work so let's see what HP says. The fact that MiX offers the prompt at all may be a good sign... or may just mean the prompt is appearing when it should not.
That all being said, your problems accessing external SD cards in MiX via USB OTG might be worth digging into (which means logging and sharing device details).
I understand it all and thanks that you as a user give many tips. But unfortunately they don't work.Stop...listen to what is being said to you... please. But you have misunderstood a little bit.
You should know that I never said anything about SD card drive problems via cable or USB OTG adapter. I have no problems with SD card drive or other external media (USB flash drive, external SSD).
It was always just this issue of connecting to 2 Android devices via cable directly or USB OTG adapter. And unfortunately the other Android device does not appear in MiXplorer or other file manager apps.
The same access request you see appears in other File Manager apps that support USB OTG.
I gotta admit, it would be a lot more entertaining if you lost it just once. and I do mean once.
Hi, Thank you!Hello,
I'm using version 6.42.3 and almost everything works perfect except connecting to a Server (Linux Centos 7.4) from LOS 17 (Samsung A70) via SFTP by using public private key authentication. The server does NOT support password authentication. Connection with ConnectBot works.
1. First I tried to use the working private key from Connectbot by exporting it to a text file folder on my SDCard. In SFTP Advanced settings added path and filename to pem_private_key_path. On connect MIXPLORER complains about an incorrect key format, I guess it's because Connectbot starts keys with -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY----- instead of -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----. Changing the header results in 'Expected DER Integer, but found type 48'
2. Then I created a new public private key pair RSA 2048 at the linux box with a Passphrase and exported the private key to the SDCARD. When trying to establish a connection MIXPLORER no outputs an error 'PEM is encrypted but no password was specified' which is definitive wrong.
Does anyone have a clue what kind of private key MIXPLORER accepts for SFTP and how this can be resolved??
Thank you in advance!
Martin
Ok guys, thanks. I'm feeling lazy to search and read rn
Help me be my search engine one more time, any other recommended root file manager for a14?
Hello and good morning, @ledagiwMy guy, my savior. Thanks

Xda search is junk, can't search if not login (i browse on incognito), timeline is messed up
Also i didn't mean to offend anyone, since the burger isn't available

The project is far from dead. HootanParsa regularly takes extended breaks from XDA, months at a time sometimes, but is brilliant with catching up with feature requests/bugs/etc. when they return. For the extent at which most users will use MiXplorer, everything still works great. Obviously there may be some niche issues and the odd request here and there but everything works more than fine, for the most partLooks like the project is dead.
I was about to buy it (support the project) untill I read when the last update was released.
Your post is no. #43,838. That's a strong indicator for the passion and long standing development and support from the developer - despite some breaks in between. You'll have difficulties to find another app having a longer history than MiXplorer. And of course, I cannot speak for the developer, but I'm quite sure, there will be updates in the future. So there are good reasons to support the developer now and in the future.Looks like the project is dead.

I've already replied to this exact post but doing so again, just for context.Looks like the project is dead.

You said "use an alternative" in your post.
Is there any possibility to open a different viewing app out of MiXExplorer instead of ImageViewer which would allow swiping through the whole folder?
If I click "open with" and choose Google Photos for example only the one picture opened opens in Google Photos and I cannot swipe through the whole folder like I can in ImageViewer.
