do this when you get a chance

Going to start working on that right now, I hope it works :)

I sent you a link to dropbox with the sqlitebrowesr earlier, sorry I just got a ton of calls all of a sudden. But I appreciate all the effort you put in to help me.

I will report back soon as I am done with this link.

I just wonder if my phones internet connection having dropped to a steady 0.11mbps since last night is a sign that tmobile did something to my account, and if so will any of these hacks do anything if the data is restricted. (?)

Well I dont know about that... let us know after u r done ;)

Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2

it f*uked my phone up, I may now have a bricked phone. I shouldve read others comments on that link before doing it, lots of others had the same problem.

I flashed he radio, rebooted the phone, and he signal indicator was the little round circle with a line through it, and it said no sim was installed, in phone dtails it didnt show imei, baseband, nothing everything was blank....again same issue others reported.

So I reset the phone back to new, and still had the same problem as obviously reset the phone doesnt install the the original radio.....so I went in CWM and I think, I cant recall, but I believ I clicked "reformat system" and "reformat data", so when I boot the phone it goes to the Samsung logo and stays there.....any idea of this means I bricked it, or I removed the operating system?

Is there a way to tell? If I just reformatted it, where can I find the files to get android back on my phone,it previosuly had 4.0.4

I seriously need help, I rely on my phone for work, and due to this I have been out of work for 2 days and this is getting me in trouble.

If you formatted system you "deleted" your Rom, not bricked, just have to find your stock files and reinstall....

When I bought my note is was still gingerbread I believe, I dont know mcuh about these things, but it had an OTA to 4.0.4.

If your phone is bricked are you still able to go into CWM or not sure what the other one is when you hold the volume down? Because I can still access those.

My Note is an ATT I717, but I had it rooted, and unlocked, and was now on tmobile and changing over radios, and hacking it to be able to tehter, until now this happened,....so seeing as this happened, can I now install 4.0.4 back or a newer version of Android?

Also, since I may have formatted system "and" data, is there anything lse other than Android that I need to reinstall?

Where can I find these files, I am googleing and searching like crazy but having a hard time locating the proper files.

I want to make my phone now all tmobile if that helps.

Thanks for any help you an offer.

Bricked means no power at all... if you can get into cwm or download mode you are not bricked, just need to reinstall all stock files.. enter your phone name and how to unroot it unstuck and it will link you to stock files for it, there will probably be a video on YouTube with step by step instructions also.. what phone it's it and I can't help you more... (haven't been following this thread, just stumbled upon it and thought I could/should help you in soft-brick your phone)

Edit-went back seen you have the note... go to the note section for your phone and find the stock tars, download Odin and flash with that... all instructions should be in a sticky for your phone in your phone's development section... if you have trouble finding it, pm me and I can and will find and link you to it... remember to use the files from your original carrier or you will probably end up with a fancy paper weight

Just a point I would like to make. If you connect to the TMO network their engineers can use packet sniffers to see what you are downloading and if you are using your android device as a hotspot they can determine that too LOL. Are they? Who knows but the ability is there.

These threads are too funny!

yes I was aware of that, that is why I had to use Chrome Extension User Agent Switcher.....but the steps rom the OP so far didnt work on my phone. I may not go through with this yet, the tmobile plan I was on only gave me 4 gigs of 4G then unlimited 2G for the rest of the month, and 2G is only about 117kbps, back to dial up damn near.....going to wait and do this when I change to tmobiles $89 unlimited 4G data plan with no capping.

Right now I'm on AT&T, the 5 gigs a month for $50 isnt cutting it, I keep going over, but the 4GLTE is blazing fast, I just ran a speedtest and it was 21mbps.....where else can I get these speeds without paying $145/month for my entire bill?

Only need encrypted brower

I DID SAME AS Its has been explained but after a month i will be caught on PC not on Tab:good: so what i did then here is the

Case Studies
I had a unlimited Internet which I was not able to share my internet with other devices
Phone rooted
APN file Deleted from phone and added APN manually
Deleted Boot loader and replace with unlock Booting file
After this all T Mobile usa caught me over Laptop that I am using Hotspot service with out paying and they blocked me ..
I am able to use T-Mobile internet over all Tablet or IPad but not on laptop
Made a question
Question is HOW
They having a server on site which translates the website format that we ask for so only one case can work Encrypted requests over internet …
I found Opera Brower and its work well …
Also I found that you can use your phone as a 3G modem with out any problem
And if your phone is not rooted u can use as a Modem and use Opera Brower because then they will never catch u …
The end:good:

I think T-mobile is breaking the law by trying to restrict how we use our data. Doing so was expressly banned by the federal government last time they auctioned off spectrum...

Could you please be more specific on how you set up Wifi Tether? not a single device in my house seeing it! :(

You have to use foxi or pdanet from the play store. Those wifi tether apps will work once you remove the locked apns and replace them with the T-Mobile one.

If you use pdanet click activate WiFi hotspot

    --------------------------------------

    Other Interesting Info ...

    shnn2011 ..
Many people have reported to me that their tethering no longer works even after killing the tethering manager.
Many have asked me to look into this, here are my findings..
It seems that T-Mobile has implemented a new hidden APN in their ROMs. When you activate tethering, your connected devices seem to be routed through a different APN than your phone uses which is where the block is, if you have not paid the tax.The answer:A. For users:Create a new APN name called "Tethering" and copy the information from your T-Mobile APN to it. There is no need to activate this APN. Immediately after doing so you should regain your full connection. Tested on a SGH-T989 (T-Mobile SGS 2) and reported to work.*B. Mostly for ROM authors:Edit the appropriate configuration files and change all APNs (usually "epc.pcweb.com") to "epc.tmobile.com" or any other working APN such as MVNO APNs ("simple" . . .)All test reports submitted to me report this is working and that my theory was accurate.

    Install: Google Chrome
Install Chrome Extension: Ultimate User Agent Switcher, URL sniffer
Look For Red Circle - By Settings.
Click Red Circle and Check: Activate Now!
Pick User Agent You want .. May Have to try a few.

Or Add One of these .. Into Ultimate User Agent Switcher

    change customer.xml as above.

My testing says at first boot these are hard coded to the system. I'm not able to get settings to stick post boot. Change these before flashing your rom and it should be permanent.

This changes routing overall, its permanent and even though you get an error in settings works fine if you toggle from the taskbar.

I am an unlimited 4G subscriber and I got tethering to work on v36.

I used the APN settings referenced here: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=32763688&postcount=1875
And saved the new APN. When you save the APN, the other necessary info is populated in the newly-created APN. Then, I went back into my new APN and added ",dun" to the end of the APN Type section. I then saved the APN again, selected it, and rebooted. Once the phone booted back up, I started tethering via the toggle and it worked. I'm currently watching Netflix on the Xbox and typing this on my laptop using tethering

Found a solution to tmobiles stupid user agent sniffer .

    Steps:

    1. Get TrevE Mod tether app
    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=34037922
(you will not get a internet connection using any other tether app while using the VPN app)

    2. Get Hotspot Shield VPN
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/...id.vpn&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
(was mentioned in earlier post but couldn't get it to work)

    3. Start Hotspot Shield VPN and connect

    4. Start TrevE Mod Tether app

    Problems?
Hotspot Shield does not connect or you get error 1028?

Get Tun.Ko from market and install it
    Repeat step 3 and 4
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5hZWQudHVuLmluc3RhbGxlciJd

I am using Chrome with no user agent switcher and no longer get errors when trying to play youtube videos

    Please hit the Thanks Button

confirmed !! it works on my note 2 on t mobile thank u !!!!! :good:

For Galaxy Note 2, here are the proper instructions from start to finish.
Please let me know if I missed anything

    Steps to take:

    01. Have a T-Mobile T889 Samsung Galaxy Note 2
    02. Download these files: http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1446771&d=1351716949
    03. Extract files to folder on Desktop
    04. Root your T-Mobile T889 Samsung Galaxy Note 2
    05. Once rooted, make a COMPLETE backup using CWM or Titanium Backup (I did BOTH just in case, I like to be double sure I have a backup)
    06. Once backed up, go to Google Play Market and download "APN Backup & Restore"
    07. Once installed, open APN Backup & Restore and press on "OK" on the warning message that comes up
    08. Close APN Backup & Restore (from task manager too, just in case)
    09. Open Titanium Backup and press on Backup/Restore
    10. Find the application "APN Backup & Restore" and long press with your finger on it
    11. Once menu comes up, press on "Convert to System App"
    12. Once done, close Titanium Backup (from task manager too, just in case)
    13. Open APN Backup & Restore and press on "OK" on the warning Message that comes up
    14. Press on the menu button on the phone and press on "Disable ICS Check"
    15. Close APN Backup & Restore (from task manager too, just in case)
    16. Open APN Backup & Restore and press on "Backup APNs"
    17. Select a name or leave the one in there
    18. Once backed up, close APN Backup & Restore (from task manager too, just in case)
    19. Connect your phone to your computer
    20. Once connected, navigate to your phone drive in My Computer and go to "Phone > ApnBackupRestore" > Copy the created XML file to your computer (once again, just in case)
    21. While still in the "Phone > ApnBackupRestore" folder copy/cut/paste the "T-Mobile-APN.xml" file to that folder
    22. Once the file has been copied to the "Phone > ApnBackupRestore" folder, open up APN Backup & Restore application on your phone
    23. Once open, press on "Delete APNs" and press "Yes"
    24. Once deleted, press on "Restore APNs" and select the T-Mobile-APN.xml (the one we originally copies from the zip folder that needed to be downloaded/extracted to a folder on your Desktop, and press "OK"
    25. It will then restore the newly modified APN file
    26. Close APN Backup & Restore (from task manager too, just in case)
    27. Go to Google Play Market and download "Tethering Widget"
    28. Once installed, go to the APPS icon on your phone and select Widgets tab on top and drag the Tethering Widget to a new page
    29. You should now be able to successfully enable native tethering via the Widget
    30. MISSION COMPLETE :)

*NOTE: DO NOT GO INTO THE ACTUAL T-MOBILE HOTSPOT APPLICATION AS IT WILL OVERWRITE THE APNS AND TETHERING WILL NO LONGER WORK. IF THAT HAPPENS, REPEAT STEPS 23-30.

Please let me know if I have missed anything. Alot of these steps are self explanitory but I have had issues with this the past day, but I finally got it to work so I wanted to share every step in an ultra-easy fashion :)
