I don't get this, What does it doe that I can't do with Titanium?

A lot and it does it both faster and better IMO

And all I know is that ppl how used TB before stoped using it after they found ROM Cleaner.

But if you are fine with TB then stick with it ;)
I'm not going to force anyone.

Are you always like this? Haha

Did you read the OP?
Did you try it?

Why should I explain more?
This is a work I share for free at xda. Not something that i have for sale...

This will replace TB when it comes to removing apps with out a doubt.

When it comes to backing up user apks it's faster as well. When it comes to restoring apps, yep faster as well.

This script should be considered as a ROM customizer.

The backup tool will not only backup apps (/data/app/*.apk) it will also let you to backup other stuff as home screen settings, mail settings, accounts, WiFi keys, bt pairings.
All stuff you can backup with this should be considered as safe to backup/restore.

Use it or not, it's all up to you.

I know there is about 15 000 happy users here at xda so I'm pretty sure we did something good ;)

Thanks, I have just flashed it and it worked brilliantly, just notice it did not remove "Readers Hub" and "reader's store". Readers hub does not work if it detects root antway... Thanks I don't have to manually disable the bloatwares myself... will test and update thread when necessary

Thanks for the nice feedback, mate. If you can post the names of the .apks you removed for the Readers store and hub, we can add it to future versions of RC. No need keeping them if they don't work with custom ROMs anyway, I guess ;)
We'll be glad to hear the outcome of your tests. :D

No need to explain more, mate. It's all in your post, lol
...

...
The only thing I would like to add to that is that the stated 15000 aren't the download counts, but actually returning happy users for our supported devices.

And along the way you will notice that there will be fast and nice support, in a (hopefully) friendly thread. Besides that, you can join our IRC channel for support, suggestions or lots of OT chitchat as well :D

So don't be shy (using this and) sharing your experiences with this tool, we can't wait to make it even better....

The name of the apks are reader store and readers hub. Also would like to suggest for future builds is to have a menu during setup so we can choose which apks are being removed. That way it is better as some users would like to keep some part of the bloatware like music hub etc which was automatically removed. Thanks

Does it remove bloatware automatically? Pretty pointless if I have to spend hours selecting every app I want to remove - may as well use titanium backup if that's the case

Thanks but we need full apk name if possible. "Reader_hub.apk" - "ReadersHub.apk" etc.

We will not add a menu to select what to edit because that's just waste of time.
Edit a ROMCleaner_user.txt and use it over and over again if you want. ;)

This is yet another reason why we differ from other "de-bloating" solutions.
And so far our users find it very good.

We did how ever plan to make a user.txt creator from the AROMA but it takes so much time compared to list all apps in a txt file together with a short description.

Asked a simple question and got a hostile response. Chill out and cut down on your superiority complex because you wrote a simple script.

Seriously if you take the team to read the OP its very easy and simple to use ROMCleaner .

Patrice83 & MarckX are some of the most kind and helpfull dev I meet in XDA . But for benefits of their help , people have to do one minimum : take the time to read the OP .

Best regards to the ROMCleaner TEAM :good:

Missed some action today in this thread, I see.... :S

But as we're all gathered here in the original software development, no one can or should actually argue that it is only a simple script.

We realise that not everybody will see/read the benefits of these scripts. But surely nobody is or will be forced to use it. So here's some suggestions:

-*- For ppl that only come here spreading negative remarks, I would say: keep them to yourself and just move on. There's no need to piss off devs that spend countless hours of (spare- and family)time, providing free software. Therefore we will report misbehaviour of any kind instantly.

-*- For ppl that have constructive criticism: your feedback is more than welcome. You're actually helping us making this versatile script to get even better. So, don't be afraid to come forward with your remarks and suggestions :)

-*- For ppl that can actually see only benefits of this piece of work: nice feedback is what we thrive on :D

So let's close this discussion here and move on just for the ones appreciating ROMCleaner, trying to keep this thread as friendly as all of the other ROMCleaner threads so far :D

Just my 2cts....Cheers!

Hi all, just to input my weird experience last, I installed stock recovery on my note 2 successfully, and when I rebooted my device, all the bloatwares were back. I don't know if this is expected, but it seems odd. Anyway I just reinstalled the zip again and all the bloatwarez were gone again.

Is there a way to make this work with the internal sd card, like it does on the HOX?

Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium

Yes it's possible but all external_sd paths must be changed to sdcard in updater-script+aroma_config
and all sh scripts.

If there is more requests about it, we can make two versions. Or use only internal sdcard all the time.

ROM Cleaner will remove all apps so it's impossible they are back just like that. You must have been restoring a nandroid or maybe you reflashed the ROM?

No mate, definitely did not install rom. It was just stock recovery I installed. I used MSKIP tool to flash back stock recovery...

Well you did something for sure. :S

If the apk is removed there is no way they can come back unless you install them manually or flash a ROM.

So this is not ROM Cleaner related.

But if you find the reason, please let me know.

    Guide & Info

    Guide For ROM Cleaner and Additional Tools!

    We did make an effort to make it as clear as possible on each AROMA screen. However it's always nice to know what the scripts do and when to use them...

    So let's start!

    Video review by TheSmokingAndroid

    Main Menu

    In our main menu you will find:

    * Backup Tool
    * ROM Cleaner
    --- ROM Cleaner
    --- Skip cleaning step
    * Additional Scripts
    --- Settings Restorer
    --- Setup Wizard Remover
    --- Apps & Mods Installer
    --- Run all scripts in one GO!
    * Logs collection
    * Advanced Power Menu

    Backup Tool

    Will backup:

    -*- Applications (Not app data)
    -*- Accounts (Settings - Accounts)
    -*- Bluetooth pairings
    -*- TocuhWiz launcher settings (and 3rd party widgets)
    -*- Mail accounts (including Inbox)
    -*- WiFi keys

    Important Note: Use this before flashing a new ROM flash with full wipe

    How to apply:

    --- Open ROM Cleaner AROMA and press "Backup Tool"
    --- When done, press "Power Menu" and "Exit" .... or whatever you want...

    ROM Cleaner

    Flashing procedure for pure ROM Cleaner users!

    -*- Flash a ROM with full wipe
    -*- Start ROM Cleaner AROMA and pick "ROM Cleaner"
    -*- Pick "ROM Cleaner" script, press Next
    -*- Next menu is optional (should be pretty clear)
    -*- Press Next again and wait until ROM Cleaner is done
    -*- Press Reboot and use your phone like normal

    Skip cleaning step

    If you use this option, nothing will be removed and you will still be able to restore your apps.

    Additional Scripts

    Important Note: Use this menu only after a full boot!

    * Settings Restorer > This script will restore data already saved with Backup Tool
    * Setup Wizard Remover > This script will remove the Setup Wizard
    * Apps & Mods Installer > This is a batch install script. Apps, mods, files in /extSDcard/ROMCleaner/SecondBoot will be installed when you use this script
    * Run All scripts in one GO! > This is a batch install for all scripts in this menu

    Logs Collection

    Use this option when we request logs from you.

    This script will collect all needed logs + "*user.txt" and create "RC_LogCollector.tar" in ROMCleaner folder. Upload this file and send it to us on XDA or IRC.

    Advanced Power Menu

    In this menu you will find the following options:

    * Reboot your device
    * Exit to Recovery
    * Enable Mobile Network

    How To Edit Your Personal User.txt

    Steps you need to do:

    --- Windows users, download Notepad++ and install it.
    --- Download "ROMCleaner_user.txt"
    --- Open the text file with Notepad++

    In the text file you will find two columns with app names and a description in this guide we use AdobeReader.apk as an example.

    To Remove a file with ROMCleaner

    Code:
    AdobeReader.apk         Adobe Reader PDF reader

    In the case above "AdobeReader.apk" will be removed.

    To keep a file with ROMCleaner If you decide to keep it, add a "#" at the beginning of the line:
    Code:
    [COLOR=Red]#[/COLOR]AdobeReader.apk         Adobe Reader PDF reader

    Let's say we are done with the edits. To continue just complete next list:

    --- Press the "X" in the upper right corner of the screen to save the changes.
    --- Copy the file onto your extSDcard. The file must be located in "/internal or external sdcard/ROMCleaner" folder.

    Now ROM Cleaner script will always read that file!

    Easy?
    Yes? Good because this is and should be easy ;)

    Enjoy!
    4
    thanks! it seems to be very usefull :D

    If you ask me, then yes it's very useful :D :p

    I hope you will like it as well. Please leave feedback after you have tried it ;)
    4
    I ran twice in order to understand all of its features. I love the backup tool with third party applications. ..due to my tons of widget. ..and home screen settings. Actually I do not have any bloatware so the cleaner runs and doesn't clean anything of course, but it is fully customizable and when I will Flash next rom I will use your cleaner for sure.
    It is very fast!

    Inviato dal mio GT-N7100 con Tapatalk 2

    Thanks for your feedback!

    The more you understand about it, the more you will like it ;)
    Because we really put a lot of stuff in there that are very useful as long you use it as we designed it to be used.

    The cleaner part takes only 1sec no matter if you remove 1 app or 300 apps :D

    BTW, did you look at the video review?
