Did you give Safestrap Super User permission?

I click on the .apk and it installed right away.

Delete the first one and try to download it again. Possibly a bad download. Be sure to check unknown applications in security then try and install the apk again. Then install recovery and reboot.

Install it from within a file manager. It won't install from the download screen.

Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app

super user never comes up to ask for grant the only time I have seen it come up was after the restart when kingo was finished.
Just checked my SU permissions and SS wasn't in the list, so my advice was pointless,..

On a hopeful helpful note, maybe try Root Explorer instead of ES?

That was what I used.

I think I figgured it out.

Did you ever find anything? I'm having the exact same problem as you and I tried everything in this thread.

From lurking around some other threads this issue DOES seem to be caused by trying to do something other than the exact steps listed in the http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2448925 thread.

I was able to install Safestrap by doing a complete factory restore, wiping everything, doing a saferoot install (http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2565758) and then following the instructions in the first link to install safeboot.

I believe this is related to using another kind of rooting program. I originally rooted using the Kingo method and actually began to flash CWM on my MK2 (which is wrong and bad and apparently won't work). Something got borked along the way. Do what I did and factory reset it and try the correct steps again!

Good luck!:good:

Anyone fix this? I am having the same issue on a S3, I just Odin'ed back to stock, installed Saferoot and tried and am still getting the parse error.
