That's a good question. I've been playing around with some totally discard-able test files but unable to figure it out. Using "extension" will rename the extension but it requires an entry and will not accept a blank field. Using "full name" might remove the extension but mangles the rest of the file names. It would not surprise me if regex was the way to go.
Forgive me for mentioning a rival app but Solid Explorer batch rename system is close to perfect, we don't need to try and miss because it have a preview system and click-able placeholders, that make the life a lot easier, and leaving Regex stuff for advanced users. I Hope Hootan can implement something like that in the future. Thank you for your time.

@IronTechmonkey
- I renamed "Section" to "Header". Which one do you think is better?
Thank you so much.I can understand the inclination to call it a header a from a programming or technical point of view, but IMO "Section" is a better one-word description because the word section implies that it could be one of several, while the word header could be interpreted as a label at the top of one large list or the top of small parts of the lists... aka sub-sections. A section is somewhat defined by other sections where a header is not necessarily so.
So, I think that in this case words like "Section" and "Group" do better at describing the underlying function is to a wider range of users.

- I renamed "Add section" to "Add header". Which one do you think is better?
Enter the name: $1
Regex pattern: (.*)\.[^.]+$
I'll improve the batch rename ASAP.
Why not "Folder" or "Bookmarks Folder"?@IronTechmonkey
- I renamed "Add section" to "Add header". Which one do you think is better?
Hi,
I don't find information about Trash Basket with an external SD Card...
It seems not possible to put a file on the external sd card (access allowed yet to the sd card) ?
Is it a known problem ?
Thanks.
Just dropping in to say thanks and kudos for maintaining this so Hootan can concentrate on the other things. And i quoted this because Marty was the man. Young Frankenstein is 1 of the greatest movies ever. What a cast in that film!!!These samples and examples of how to use regex are very helpful indeed. I've linked that post to a Regex/Search post in the thread which is in turn linked to a section in the FAQ OP.
Also, sorry for the off topic but Werewolf. Wherewolf? Therewolf! Marty Feldman was awesome :silly:
please, HootanParsa, are you add sorting all photos and images at folders? Now i need search all my photos and images or all this place randomize in one thread "images"...
MiX is a file manager. Not a photo gallery. I think hootan has done plenty to emulate gallery apps with his gallery mode, and sort by only goes by file association I believe, so folders containing images are not images so they won't be shown as such. If i understand your request correctly. Galleries work the way you want because it only deals with images and not the other file associations.I want so that the "Images" section contains not only images, but also folders containing images. As in the true gallery.

As I replied elsewhere, copying here in case someone can confirm if this works :
There is a preference in :
menu > view > Options > Change view mode globally
In theory if this is not checked, subfolders should be able to keep a sort view independent from the parents, and if it is on, they inherit it, causing your problem. I say in theory because I think people have had trouble with it before, and it may be buggy.
I have the same sort view for all folders and subfolders so I never had your problem, try and see if it works for you.
Hi Community.
I have a question regarding the "sort" function of Mixplorer.
I want a parentfolder to sort the the sub-folders in it in random fashion but the sub-folders themselves should sort the .jpegs in them in alphabetical order.
parentfolders -> subfolders -> .jpegs
If I switch to "random" in the parentfolders the subfolders sort the .jpegs randomly aswell and I have to change that manually in every subfolder.
Is there any quick way to only sort the .jpegs in the subfolders in alphabetical fashion and the subfolders in random fashion?
Thank you so much
Mark
Someone with more knowledge may know but I do not think you can add a url-shortcut "one click link" at the momentHi Community.
Does anyone have an idea how to add URL-shortcuts to a webbrowser in Mixplorer? Lets say Chrome for that matter.
I would love to introduce files to my folders which redirect to websites by clicking on these files.
Is that possible?
Thanks.
Lito
I found out how to create book marks but I can't figure out how to delete them without clearing all of them!
This app is so confusing. There is no option to add or delete book marks. Im just stuck with the default ones. WTF?
