Woohoo - order mine during AliExpress pre-sales on 21 May ... surely waited long enough here in the USA for getting it shipped & delivered. USPS delivered my Global A5 Pro on July 11th - it came via SIN to LAX, cleared CBP & continued via postal system. The package was securely wrapped with padding, bag within the shipping pouch.

There is a newer OTA update (7-05-2019) that promised some bug fixes & enhanced functions, installed & rebooted just fine. Camera function - not acceptable - unsatisfactory. Otherwise, everything else basically working fine ... as initial impression. Battery life in standby mode and while in use - is draining faster than what a 4,000+ mah battery running stock Android 9 should be, I feel, don't see how it can easily last 2+ days as advertised. AccuBattery installed ... stay tuned for update, battery was fully charged before installing apps & setting it up, will give it time to settle down & do the usual tune-up & tweats, brightness set to no higher than 75%, etc.

There are few, if any, aftermarket case for the A5 Pro - Umidigi included a free one (in black) along with a pre-installed screenguard/protector (not a tempered 9H one) but it is a "magnet" for fingerprints & smudges, etc. 2 amp charger (110-220V US 2 prong plug) with micro-usb cable included.

For reference & comparison, I plan to use my Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite - global (5.7" dual sim) For a 6.3" screen, it is only slightly larger & easy to hold in one hand, non-slippery with the free case. I am mostly interested with its wide range of 4G/LTE bands as advertised and plan to use this for travel use - video & email, basic web browsing - not going to compare its camera to a mid-range/high end smartphone, given its selling price. Stock Android 9 apps installed without issues and runs fine - 4GB memory & 32GB internal storage should work for me, with a 32GB or 64GB micro-SD card for extra storage. Instead of the stock launcher, I switched to Nova Laucher for more flexibility. Developer's option enabled, to be prepared - just in case.

Sim 1 roaming on AT&T at 3G (China Mobile HK prepaid line) and Sim 2 on Google Fi (T-Mobile USA) for 4G LTE data. Speedtest.net results on cellular data seemed a bit slow but acceptable/reasonable on 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz, slower compared Motorola Moto X4 and even the XiaoMi A2 Lite. Without stereo speakers, sound is OK but not great - much improved listening via in-ear buds. Bluetooth works, paired with BT speaker for video playback.

Stay tuned - I will amend/update with more screenshots & user findings as I go along. Feel free to ask questions or comments, and share ... add to. Thanks.

Anyone having problem setting up the virgin mobile sim card?

I added 2 sim cards (rogers (call) + virgin mobile (data) ), then I go to mobile settings and disable the rogers data. If I do so, I'll only see my virgin mobile 3g signal. I can't change it to 4g, can't edit / add apn. Even though I see the 3g signal I can't even use it to connect to the internet.

If I take out the rogers sim and only use the virgin mobile sim (tried both slot), no signal detected.

Mine is on AT&T 3G roaming (no data) in Slot 1, Google Fi = T-Mobile (data only) 4G/LTE in Slot 2, and I can configure mine to use data in Slot 2. Voice call & SMS/text messaging (roaming) seemed fine, that is with both slots active.

Have you checked your Phone Info settings - from Dialer, input *#*#4636#*#* -
Testing >> Phone Information & see
"Set Preferred Network Type:" is it LTE/UMTS auto (PRL) ??
take a look at the various status, anything look ususal ?

Go back out to Settings, look under Network & Internet, then under Mobile network, open the Advanced screen and also check your SIM cards, are the "Preferred Sim" set correctly ? Are the APN settings for Virgin and Rogers correct ? Might want to edit & manually save them.

Whenever I use/move my Fi data sim around, I have to manually configure its APN setting to use data ... on the Nexus, Moto, Samsung, Xiamomi, etc.

Hello, I have two orders waiting to be shipped from AliExpress. I'm a little worried about the camera reviews. I wanted to know if at least it's decent. the idea is to replace a G4 play and a moto g5 plus with these two. But cancel them if they are worst. thanks in advance.

Hola ?? I just re-checked Umidigi tech support fourm for a newer update/patch/release to fix the camera app - still, nothing ... no can't do.

Based on the specs - it's good hardware so I am thinking, their IT should come up with a better App to fix this for everyone, or else, I think many of us will be filing a dispute & bad press/publicity isn't going to help this small & growing company looking to get ahead against Xiaomi, Huawei & others (and, I still use those devices) The latest OTA dated 07052019 fixed the status-bar, touch-screen issue but not the camera app.

Main problem, it sometimes open & when it does, it's fine for a quick picture or 2 or more, not concerned about super sharp or extra HD images, etc. ... just that it works. Well, most of them, it just freeze up, not FC'd but totally unresponsive, period and that is annoying & unacceptable. It is running pure Android One 9.0 software/OS - everything else is fine, thus far. We have the Motorola X4 and G6, sold the Nexus 6 and traded the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, and have a pretty good feel on what to look for and expect out of this - not a $500 mid/high-end smartphone & not going to compare it to my backpup iPhone SE (gasp ... )

Umidigi just need to fix it for everyone to get a smooth, working Camera App. Now, I could try to install, sideload or run other Camera App but I won't - it's a brand new device and I want the stock app to work as advertised.

Don't know your ordering date as their shipping is clearly backlogged seriously, mine was paid in full on May 21 and just got it 5 days ago ... fingers crossed, maybe by the time you get it delivered, the problem is fixed & OTA firmware/app are released to address the problem.

Not sure if Umidigi will agree to cancel & refund if you open a dispute unless the deadline has expired without shipping info, and AliExpress cancelled & issued a refund automatically.

I've uploaded the screenshot of the "current" OTA patch that did NOT fix #1, #2 or #3 on mine as claimed.
The 2nd. screenshot show what I saw when I open the Camera App.

Yes, I did - camera hardware looks functional, once it is open from CameraMX or stock App, I can also switch to Front Camera ... it is as if the App needs to be warmed up, open & close a few times and then it will work smoothly (flash, video, HDR & other sub-settings worked), until the next time. Impression, not a hardware issues or problem/failure.) Tried again this morning (7/16) to open & use the Camera App, frozen & stuck, doesn't work - CameraMX opened it, but very slow and after switching to front camera & then back to main, it got blurry !!

Issues has been reported/commented on FB already, when I get time later - will try to email/contact their tech support to see (if they answer/respond ....)

Update #2 - Using AccuBattery, which I charged to 95% - mine shown about 67 hours standby time, 9 h 32 m SOT (screen on time) and standby time of 111 hr ... (as shown on screenshots) - "Data Saver" is ON ... others can compare. A screenshot of the A5 Pro's system/about as well.

Lastly, a side by side view of the A5 Pro (6.3" screen) next to the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Global (5.8" screen) both running stock 9.0 Android One with Nova Laucher, both in a slim case. Included non-slip free case in black is very slim and fit is fine, probably not a lot of protection if it is dropped - but, it will do for now, few if any aftermarket case designed for this for better/stronger protection.

Ordered and paid on June 24th. Still hasn't shipped. Curious to see what a $100 Chinese phone can do. Not looking to rule the world with it, just hoping the camera is fixed, or that a 3rd party camera solves the problem for now

@rico69310 if it's not hard, can you do screenshot of list of cameras in "Device Info HW" app?
When you have root access you will see more information on this app.
