Check out the changes in Github. There's no official changelog for weeklies

Are you sure? This ROM has the lowest ram consumption among every AOSP ROMs. With idle only using up 280-350 MB of RAM.

derp? seriously? as soon as i flashed the v5 after a few hours the ram free space was only 50
makes it hard to start other apps, will try again, maybe it was the kernel i used

hi,
I can't get the Play Store working - tried it on 5.0 and 5.5. Downloaded the addon and install zip - don't working - tried to download Playstore.apk - installed do not work, too.
Play Store closes direct after start.
These are my first steps with this Rom, please could anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?

edit:

stupid me... i installed the Upgrade instead on the full...
works fine now

On user request we prepared a quick and dirty changelog for the weeklies.. You can find it on the SlimROMs website :)

Enjoy!

Are you talking about FREE ram or CACHED ram? They are different. CACHED ram will not affect your device negatively.

I was talking about all i guess, but all that's gone now, i dont know what happened at first, its all good now. op rom, smooth and sexy, slim and curvy like Cocacola bottle :highfive:

Dumb question: is there a function to kill all running apps (services) in this rom? I dont wanna install a 3rd party app :)

Thanks.

so i can safely assume that your kernel is in a stable state with no (or minimal) sod chances
another quick questions, if you remember about the ram thing,
3 variables are available to see what is using up the ram: Application Ram, Cache Ram, and Other Ram
exactly what is Other Ram? and why is it taking up almost half the ram space?

Execuse me for this but I use slim bean v5.5 n I flashed the blazing kernel n am having now laggy performance after second day of use it goes away when I restart my device ... So I want to restore the slimbean kernel soo
If possible to explain how to extract the kernel from the install zip..
Or upload it here provide the link
Or I can install the slim bean kernel 5.5 from the kernel thread as I notice its still in test yet...
Is it a common problem or just me...

Probaly you have disabled "vibration on touch" option under Sound. So you won't get haptic feedback when you press back and menu button.

My situation is different. I can't live without "vibrate on touch" so I know if I pressed Back or Menu button, but I don't want vibrate on pattern lock.

sorry to bump up this dinosaur conversation but did anyone manage to find the solution for the last sentence? :D

thanks for clarifying! guess I'll just have to live with it :D

btw what do Handsfree n Use external mean in the camera menu?

Use external uses external sd to store photos. Handsfree will allow you to take pictures with voce commands.

Edit - I can't really tell what the "persistent handsfree" toggle does. The hands free options seem to work exactly the same with it enabled or disabled.

Alright so the world is still fine.:silly: So here goes...

So this is Slim Bean 4.2.1 Beta 1 release. This is a new thread as we have started from a completely clean slate AOSP base and included most of our features within.

    NEW BASE FULL WIPE RECOMMENDED!!!

By downloading this ROM, you accept the fact that you understand that your device will not magically have more RAM or CPU power

Also keep in mind that this is Beta software features and performance will vary as we get closer to the stable releases.

    BUG REPORTING?
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)

    Albert Einstein said:

So with a ton of Imagination and skill, we have come up with our idea of how some stuff are supposed to work.

And as expected SlimBean 4.2.2 Build 4 is here. ;)

    Read Changelogs, download and Enjoy!

PS: PIE is as you know is, difficult but not impossible, to trigger on H/W Key devices, hence it is disabled on CM!
PS: Android 4.2.2_r1.2 release only covers changes for Nexus 4 kernel... so don't even bother asking!
PS: Bug reports without logs will be ignored as usual! :cowboy:
