Hi All,
Does posting an image through google photo link show the link or the image itself?

Thanks

Good question. I tried a couple of months ago and it didn't upload the photo. So let's try again here:

EDIT: Nope. No image and no link either

Thanks. Maybe i will get that option once i have the 10 posts . Guess this should be my 10th so I should have the access now.:D

Yeah.
But I have 7200+ posts and the G Photos don't upload.
Upload the pic you want to https://imgur.com/ first and link them from there.

EDIT: I shouldn't have stated that as a fact, since I haven't done it myself.
But with photos I've seen here on XDA, they often have imgur links

Getting a link from Google Photos that work on XDA takes a few steps.
1. Upload photo
2 Click share
3. Create Link
4. Copy Link (e.g. https://photos.app.goo.gl/UEaPt7h8m6WaUqGd7
(The reason this link doesn't work is it's a link to a web page not a direct link to an image.)
5. Open link in a browser (on mine it has a white background)
6. Click on the photo so it opens to a new page. (on mine it has a black background)
7. Copy image address.
8. Wrap very largely address in the image code.
Code:
[PLAIN][Img] Paste Link Here [/Img][/PLAIN]

Image Link You are looking for, should look like this ridiculously long code.

I also am new, but I also have a problem adding images to my other post. I am using the website from my desktop and there is a button called "Insert Image". But when I click it, a small popup asks me for a URL to the image. There is no upload button. So I tried adding the URL of the image ("photonsoftware.epizy.com/images/screenshots/0.jpg") I have on my website, but it does not show up.

After adding the URL the dialog will add the following to my post:
Code:
{IMG}photonsoftware.epizy.com/images/screenshots/0.jpg{/IMG} //{ } brackets are replaced with [ ] and http is added in front.
//The changes were made so that the form will ignore formatting it.
but after submitting, it does not show the images.
I will add the image in this post too, just below this text (if you cannot see it, you 'see' my point):
0.jpg

Am I doing something wrong, what is the correct way to upload or hyperlink a image?

Link not working for me either, you may need to use a different photo hosting site, or upload to XDA as an attachment.

Assuming you are doing this on your PC (if you are doing it via mobile say so and I'll add further instructions)
Go to your photo online, then right click and select "open this image in a new tab"
Then copy that url, and use that.

EDIT: This method should work for any photos you want to upload from any site, including Google Photos

I also tried uploading it to XDA, but it also did not work. It seems like XDA parses the link to the photo so that it goes to a link on XDA self, and then redirects you to the original site with the image. However, when you open the parsed photo (by right clicking on the photo that does not appear and opening it in a new tab) then it redirects me to a cloudflare site, explaining that the site is down.

I have, however, just downloaded the mobile app, and I'll see if I have luck using it to upload the images instead of using the browser.

Nope, the mobile app also doesn't work, if I click the attachment icon and select a picture, it uploads but then gives a "bad request" error

Isn't it amazing that instead of the app giving us a message that you will need certain number of posts before you can upload a photo, it says "Bad Request"

By upload, do you also include image links? I have an image on my google drive. I added the link to that image in one of my posts. While the post did not show any errors, the image is not showing up when I view that post now.
Did the link you inserted between these tags
had the .img (or similar for a picture) at the end. If I want to insert pictures I usually don't upload to google but to https://imgbb.com/ or https://imgur.com/ (for permanent availability but require registration) or to https://framapic.org/.

guys, do you see my attached gifs properly in the below post?
    https://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=79091367&postcount=4

for me they stop halfway or wont load at all, this is not the first time i have problems with images.
is this on my side or serverside? thx.
I'm able to watch the two gif's without any problems. No issues here.
    2
Ok, cannot figure for the life of me. I try using both Google image site to share and also 500px site as well. And can't resolve the insert image site. Is it because it's pointing to https secure site instead of http only? Also, when I scroll down, I do not see the file or upload in my browser from the pc. However, from the XDA app on my phone, I see the attachment icon and choose the image but it errors out 'Bad Request'. I try to resize and using different images and getting the same error.

    Thanks
Not being able to upload files is one of some intented limitations of XDA website for its very new members (junior members with less than 10 posts).

The "bad request" error shown within XDA mobile app is a generic backend error. In that case it's all about permissions, the same as for the website.

After 10 (useful) posts, you should be able to upload files using both a web browser and XDA app.
    2
Same here. Just asked concerning an issue with installing Magisk, and I have detailed screenshots showing error messages. It’s a pity that I cannot upload them to make it easier for others to help me.
    Hi,

You need to reach 10 (useful) posts to be able to use attachment feature. Did you read this here below? (from previous page):
