blackVenoM8 v5.0.2.1 inverted Sense 7 theme for viperOne M8 5.0.2

Here comes blackVenoM9, a full flashable theme that takes the customisation to the next level.
Use any color as your theme color in few simple steps (see post #3)

Features
- choose between different theme colors in setup
- create your own theme color patch
- 12 additional HTC theme accent colors with dark headers
- 16 additional custom accent colors
- fully compatible with Venom Tweaks
- removed photo mask for low-res contact photos
- customized user colors in Theme app

after inastallation go to personalize -> change accent color -> switch to the matching color chosen in aroma setup.

How to set your own theme color

here´s how to apply your own custom theme color for blackVenoM9.

*** Global Theme Colors ***
1) Download the blackVenoM8_patcher_xxx.zip from post #1
2) open it and navigate to folder /vrtheme/
3) drag the file colors.txt to your desktop & leave the zip opened
4) open it with a propper text editor (must be able to handle UNIX txt format)
- DONT use windows notepad! it will mess up the whole thing!
5) change only the colors in the standard AARRGGBB format leaving everything else untouched
- note... the AA stands for Alpha value. so 00 will be 100% transparent, ff 0% transparent
6) save, exit and drag colors.xml back to the zip into the /vrtheme/ folder

*** Custom HTC Theme ***
If you want to have a custom HTC Theme follow these steps...
1) drag the file add2default.xml from /vrtheme/ folder to your desktop & leave the zip opened
2) replace all findings of eb001a in the line with your color in RRGGBB format
the first four 000000 are the header color for the four categories.

*** Graphic resources ***
Note that some colors in the ROM are pulled from image resources.
If you want to improve your custom theme, edit all graphic ressources needed in /drawables/ subfolders
and in common_resources folder.
I placed inverted resources with stock icons there as a base...

i recommend using imBatch to change hue in all subfolders at once ;)
only be careful with all .9.png files (only few) the should be decompiled before editing
but as long as they are only doing a plain color it doesnt really matter...

*** Extended theming ***
with the extended theming option you´ll be able to set color values and settings in VenomTweaks.
the values are stored in extended/theme.prop

again, use a text editor as described above to edit theme.prop
--> color values must be encoded in XML format - a great little tool for the conversion can be found --> here
--> tweaks can be enabled by setting it to 1 and disabled by setting it to 0
--> unwanted changes can be deleted or commented-out by placing a # at the beginning fo the unwanted line

Last steps are to copy the modified zip to your device and flash it in recovery
Done :)

if the settings in aroma are not enough for you, play around with the blackVenoM-patcher
you can basically set lots of colors in a text file which then will apply to the whole theme ;)

patcher is meant to customize theme....
see post #3 for short how-to.

you can change all sort of colors in a text file (theme color, background color, font color .... and more),
tweak ambient display and headsup notification visible time,
create your own htc accent colors theme and replace icons and drawables as you like...

you can create and share your own inverted theme without really having to get into it too much ;)
have a try....

for example putting this colors.txt into the patcher

and flashing it with only patch theme colors selected will give you attached results :cyclops:
headsup notification will be visible for 10s (instead of 5s default)
additionally to flashing the patcher a custom green accent color is selected on the screenshots from personalize menu.

so you see, its like 2min work and you´ll have created a complete new theme/look

so if you guys come up with some nice stuff, let me know and i´ll link it in post #2
i´m really lazy on the drawables work... so theres much to improve ;)

those are standard hex color codes - read the explanations in the colors.txt file...
you can use photoshop or gimp or a standalone color picker to get the hexcode of a color ;)

To get rid of the theme just flash the rom without wipe.

My main interest is the black dialer. Eyes with cataracts see great contrast in color best. After I flash the theme, will, "Settings->personalize->dialer color", permit me to choose just the dialer in the dark theme?

    --> unwanted changes can be deleted or commented-out by placing a # at the beginning fo the unwanted line

    Last steps are to copy the modified zip to your device and flash it in recovery
