cheers will update first post! a few people seem to be having this issue as the drivers dont seem to work properly till you do this
latest rom manager 4.2.0.0 installs cwm 3.0.2.7 - at least it says so, but in the end, it fails... at least for me
since rom manager failed me, i build the latest image - 3.0.2.8:
mirror1: recovery_vega_3028.img size: 4.5M (4665344 bytes)
mirror2: recovery_vega_3028.img md5sum: 51f65a999619fbda41e7f6be0b76a1be
and i also replaced the recovery.img inside add.thebad's easy installer:
mirror1: recovery_vega_3028_easyinst_donotflash.zip size: 5.5M (5728635 bytes)
mirror2: recovery_vega_3028_easyinst_donotflash.zip md5sum: 811e1e49ceaa0ca583dde994f3a58140

this file can be installed by Settings -> Software tool -> Software update on stock ROM.
after installed (reboot 2 times), you can use recovery app to reboot clockworkmod recovery.
please try.

I'm trying install a zip from my sd card using install from zip but I get this error:
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by google in Android 1.5 It was neccasary to remove it when upgrading to clockworkmod 3.0 gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (update-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.
Ive tried this with clockworkmod 3.0.2.4 and 3.0.2.8 and it comes up with this message also this is with Corvus 5. Any ideas

You try to install an older script which has an updater script written in Amend. The new version of CWM doesn't support this anymore.
2 solutions:
Flash older CWM first (V2.x.x.x), then install the ZIP, then flash latest CWM again.
Or
Update the ZIP to the newer EDIFY script language. The script that has to be updated is in META-INF/com/google/android. Amend script file is called update-script, but you need an updater-script.
Here is a tool to update amend scripts to edify -> [TOOL] amend2edify script converter [Zip][Batch][Windows][Ubuntu]. I did not ty it, but it seems to do what you need.

clicked on recovery, said will reboot, screen goes blank just backlit.
stayed like that for 10min so held power button and it went off, pressed power again and backlit again, left for 10 min, rinse and repeat, then by random it went into clockwork?
new to this tablet, do you have to press hold whatever in a certain order?

Installed this on stock rom, rebooted, clicked the recovery app and.... TADAA CWM appeared, thanks!!
Direct boot into recovery is not possible on this tablet. There is no key combination.
Hi wondering if someone can help me. I will ne getting an advent vega tomorrow. I have seen you cannot get into recovery on startup you must use an app in Android to get to it. What if you cannot get into Android how do you recover the tab. I'm used to a desire Hd so I just hold the volume down and flash off the SD card. I have searched but can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks.

its awkward you have to use a windows program called nvflash to either restore stock reflash recovery restore nandroid or use this program to nvflash a nandroid http://android.modaco.com/content/a...a-is-not-bricked-nor-broken-this-will-fix-it/

if you go to myadventvega web site a full set of drivers and instructions are their for how to get into recovery using the power button back button combo, for when you have no option but to reflash rom.
The vega is unbrickable because it has the ability to always be taken back to stock rom via recovery

8I have put together a little program to allow me to install recovery quicker because I got fed up of it taking so long.
Its dead easy to use!
instructions
- download file
- unzip
- connect vega and make sure usb debugging in enabled
- click windows_install, mac_install, or linux_install to flash depending on what your running (u should know that )
- wait for that to finish
- to boot into recovery click the recovery icon in your app draw
Download v3 clicky - mirror 1
another v3 - mirror 2
v1 - windows only
v2 - added mac and linux
v3 - updated to CW 3.0.2.8

i suggest creating a small automator app on the mac to further speed installation of clockworkmod just drag run shell script into a work flow and write in the box below the code you would usually use to run the script from terminal e.g.
cd /route/to/script
./install.sh1
I have tested the linux version. It works. Same thing with the chmod... I guess you cannot chmod something that is not there.. Just remove the trailing slash. It should work then....1hi,
