Hi.
I recently did a hard reset on my Xda IIi and have been trying to install this, but I get a "not a valid Windows CE Setup file" error message.

I have .Net CF 3.5 installed.

The thing is I've definitely used this app on my Xda before (can't remember which version though), does it no longer support this device?

Thanks. :)

Coreplayer does not support On2 VP6 format. You'll have to try other videos and find ones that are not in that format. Different sites use different formats. Some of the sites have multiple formats. TCPMP will support that format, however it will be very slow.

A while back I turned compression on in the setup program. I think it was version 0.7.5.0. That may be the problem, as some older versions of Win Mobile do not support the cab compression option. I have already turned off compression for the next version I release. You can try that when it is available.

Great thing to hear that you are still planning to update your software eventough wm is kind of dead as far as it concerns new developments/ updates.

It may be dead, but I still use it, so that's one of the reasons I'm still planning updates.

I have considered porting to Windows Phone 7, but it hasn't really taken off yet. Maybe soon. Also, although I'd like one, I don't have plans to buy a Windows Phone in the near future. So developing for it would be a little tough.

I've also considered Android, but am much more comfortable in the Windows world. Not much of a Java guy, and I don't have an Android device to play with.

So Windows Mobile it is. :)

Hi is my first post in this forum.

I have tried mvu on my HTC Tytn II and works very well.

I would like to run it on my ce 6.0 device. I know that it has a different OS but other program based on the compact framework works on it.

When I try mVu on it appears the "notsupportedexception error". Then I can see the main interface of the program but I cannot read anything in the "site", "category", etc. forms.

It wouls be great if the developer could fix this problem.

Thanks

Is your device running Windows Mobile Standard? I.E. non-touchscreen?

I'll assume it is. The error occurs because non-touchscreen versions of Windows Mobile do not support buttons, and so the Search button is causing this error.

I have been working on a UI rewrite, and the new UI will be a more standard interface using softkeys rather than buttons. Once that version is out, you should be able to use it on a non-touchscreen device.

Do you have Coreplayer associated with .3gp files?

Does it work if you add the video to the playlist and then launch the playlist? Click and hold on a video in mVu if you don't know about playlists.

That was my problem. All I had to do was associate the files in TCPMP and all is good and no Win32 error.

Thanks for the great app and it perfectly fills the hole left when WVD was abandoned!

Oh, found the app on the O-Market and followed the link here...

I do have some code around that to try to catch that situation and produce a nice error message, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll have to take another look at it and try to reproduce the situation myself.

I put the app on freewarepocketpc.net/omarket last week for the first time. I'm surprised how many downloads are coming off of that site. Almost 2800 in less than 5 days.

I added a link to this forum on that site because people have been running into issues that have already been asked here.

Requirements:
...
- A video player capable of playing flv, mp4 and/or 3gp videos. Coreplayer is recommended. See notes below.

You might want to add that the player needs to be installed as standard player for video files (or at least the relevant one's). I tried a while and found out that this was the reason why coreplayer did not open.

Now it workes fine.

Good tool, thanks.

    Thanks for the reply bik2000,

The application installs fine using the uncompressed CAB but when I open it it says "This application (mVu.exe) requires a newer version of the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework than the version installed on this device."

When I download the NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab it says its not a valid Windows CE setup file. So thats why I can't get it to work. Please can you help me?

I'm using a HP Ipaq hx2000 Intel PXA270 running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.

    Thanks

You need to install .NET Compact 3.5 Redistributable before you install the Messages cab you mentioned above.

You can get it from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...49-3c6b-42f1-9fd9-0041345b3385&displaylang=en

    New Version - mVu - 1.0.10.9

I have just posted a new version (1.0.10.9).

This version has the following changes:
    • Fixed Pornhub
    • Removed Tnaflix

Tube8 seems to be working again without any changes. I removed Tnaflix because the site now requires login to download videos.

You can download the latest version at http://bik2000.appspot.com.

    New mVu Website

In preparation of the next release of mVu, I've also created a new website for mVu.

You can find the new site at http://bik2000.appspot.com.

I've already got some screenshots of the updated UI layout on there, as well as a list of some of the new features that you can expect in the next version.
