Old style home screen folders?

Samsung sometimes makes some.. interesting design decisions. Such as the controversial S5 perforated battery cover, rather than continuing with a more realistic leather look a la Note 3. Another interesting choice is how clunky the home screen folders look on Kitkat compared to Android 4.3.

This is subjective of course, but a straw poll of several dozen people didn't find anyone who preferred the new style folders. The older folders also had the advantage of much larger thumbnails as a visual clue to their contents. Does anyone know how to revert the folder style on Kitkat.. or know of a Play store app that would do something like that?

Going to try editing /system/priv-app/EasyLauncher2.apk or TouchWizHome XMLs & art.
But open to any better ideas..
