Reporting Bugs
  • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
  • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
  • If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
  • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Can this ROM be flashed through TWRP?
A. Yes, proceed with the latest TWRP image

Q. Sounds good. How can I contribute to project?
A. Test the build as much as you can and report bugs which can be reproduced with exact steps and are not random.

Q. How to disable "Apps running in background" dialog?
A. When you see the dialog, long press on it and select "Settings". From there, you'll have a toggle to disable it.

Q. Which Models are supported?
A. So far it works well on the H930(G/DS), US998, VS996 and LS998. Other models may have broken RIL or bootloop. Im open for solutions regarding that.

Q. Why is my phone restarting during the Setup? Or early after it booted?
A. If you use a MicroSD in exfat, that can be the cause. The exfat drivers are for some reason really picky when it comes to that. Change to ext4 or NTFS or so.

I'm missing quick settings toggles on this ROM too. Am I doing something wrong? No complaints op, just been out of the custom ROM loop

Hahahahhaha, dont have the space for that ?
Already using a server for all non lineage (doing that on my PC at home), and if i dont clean the builds i run into space problems already lol

Dotos is actually my favorite. BTW, aod works fine unlike rr and lineage. One thing missing though is the setting for daytime and night time display control that lets you adjust screen color. Otherwise this is a daily driver. If we ever get volte, that would be awesome.

AoD only works some of the time for me - sometimes, just like I've seen reported in LOS etc, trying to unlock with my fingerprint doesn't do anything, I have to wait a few seconds, then click on the button, and do it all over again. Also, sometimes the clock just doesn't show at all when I turn the screen off. When it does work, it's not very bright at all, either.

Another problem I came across is that trying to open the DotUI Center for Interface Tweaks in Settings force closes Settings. I've attached the relevant part of the adb log.

Lastly, the other thing I noticed that is not quite working right is in DotExtras - changing the battery icon style works, but the "Show battery percentage" setting doesn't seem to do anything at all - there's no change (i.e. the ##% always shows) no matter which setting I choose.

Blame the AOSP source for AoD...

And the rest is Source Bug, nothing i can do about

btw, DotOS 2.3 is released, gonna do that this weekend... and get some fixes from los probably too. Has been a busy week for me

Random question. Is it a hardware or software issue regarding the v30 not being able to use the fingerprint scanner to pull down the notification tray? I've noticed that it doesn't have this feature in stock, Lineage, and now dotOS.

Awesome! Can I buy you a beer or something? Where can I send it?

There should be a paypal.me link in my profile ^^

Try fingerprint gesture apps i guess? Otherwise, not sure. If they dont work, I can try to switch to the LG fingerprint stack again, idk if it will work with those though.

Had some complications here and there (and forgot stuff..)
    But here it is

    Release 27.09.2018
    - Updated sources, DotOS v2.5
    - New init system for model detection (old one used ro.boot.suffix which not every V30 had for some reason)
    - Some love for the H930DS, it finally works now
    - Baseband is shown correctly now

    Have fun :)
Will be last Oreo release for my side.
I dont know yet which Pie ROMs i will (more or less) maintain, all are still in a pretty early state, and will be probably rather busy with university, have a lot to catch up on.
And we have more devs now anyway, and sources are up to date on git, which means everyone can build their own.
    9
    Release 29.08.2018
    - Updated Source
    - Updated blobs to H930 21a

Sorry it took a while, but my V30 was in repair, then P released, prioritized that, and then went on holiday to the gamescom :p
