I decided to create this converter zip that deletes most non essential apks from the system partition, this is like my old Remove Sense zip that I did a while back on the EVO. This will work on any GB & ICS ROM

Must be flashed through CWM

Don't want to flash FB27 kernel.
Will wait till we get repack for FC06.
But it's a good list. Now we won't breack anything trying to figure out what apps can be removed safely.
Thanks a lot.

If I flash the FB27 kernel so I can get CWM, can I then flash your format all, flash FC06 ROM, flash modem FC05, and this Bare ROM Converter all in one session?

Oh very nice! Although, I guess this is an all or none deal eh? In other words, if I want the digital clock for example, I'd have to push it back after flashing. Still a big time saver though. Thanks for doing this Calk.

Edit - Oh nevermind. You can just pull out the updater script, modify it and put it back. Sweet!

This is useful, thanks.

Since there are still many more applications that can be removed (depending on the users preferences), can you share any insight on how to determine the impact of removing an application? I mean, trial and error obviously, but are there specific errors to watch for in logcat? Or anything along those lines? My goal would be to remove as much as possible from the ICS builds, but still maintaining essential functionality.

Calk, would this make a stock room just as bare as your barebones roms? Or more? Or less? Thanks.

Noob alert!

Is there a Windows application that can open this script for modification or will it have to be done in Linux?

Awesome.

I see Nova Launcher in here, though. If I'm already running Nova, will it uninstall my launcher?

Sent from my Galaxy S II, AOKP style.

Correct, it will convert it to about the same

It will only remove the one in my ROM, if you installed it from the Market, then it will not remove it

Updated it to v1.2 to add better removal support for odex'd ROMs
    4
v2.0 is now up, it now moves the removed files to the /sdcard/Removed_Apps folder for easy recovery

Calkulin, could you please add the version history on your thread? It seems like I have your first pack and not sure what I'm missing.

    Thanks in advance!

    Just odex removal support

I think I lost my navigation voice after flashing this. Any idea which apk it was so I could reinstall it?

VoiceToGo or vlingo if your on ICS but just an FYI, Market has a updated version which I've heard is better

How do you change what's on the list? I mean, how do you create the update binary?

Just open up the zip navigate to updater-script (in the last folder), drag it out of the zip on to your desktop. Then open it up with your favorite text editor (I use notebook++) then just add the apk's or delete the ones you don't want, stick to the same code used in the script and don't leave any gaps.
