If you have link of your image then fill it. Else, Just scroll down & there would be "Add attachment" option. Select the file & hit on "upload". Then Save the Post/thread.

Ok, cannot figure for the life of me. I try using both Google image site to share and also 500px site as well. And can't resolve the insert image site. Is it because it's pointing to https secure site instead of http only? Also, when I scroll down, I do not see the file or upload in my browser from the pc. However, from the XDA app on my phone, I see the attachment icon and choose the image but it errors out 'Bad Request'. I try to resize and using different images and getting the same error.

Thanks

Not being able to upload files is one of some intented limitations of XDA website for its very new members (junior members with less than 10 posts).

The "bad request" error shown within XDA mobile app is a generic backend error. In that case it's all about permissions, the same as for the website.

After 10 (useful) posts, you should be able to upload files using both a web browser and XDA app.

I can't seem to attach photos. I get bad request on the app. In the browser I don't have a button for attachments.

Maybe my 10 posts weren't useful so far?

If you can see this attachment it means it works again.

You need to reach 10 (useful) posts to be able to use attachment feature.
Thanks, that’s what a mod told me as well. So let me use this opportunity to increment my post count by one.

Missed it.

Anyhow, while I can imagine that this rule protects from spammers to some extent, I see a serious downside: Post quality. When posting an issue or an answer, I like to provide as much information as possible, and this – in many cases – includes screen shots.

Update: I now have 15 posts, and I still cannot upload photos and illustrations to my posts.

Another way I found to work around is to upload the photos to google drive and share the link here. At least that way others can still see the photos you want to upload and can try to help. :)

    Hi All,
Does posting an image through google photo link show the link or the image itself?

    Thanks
    Sukesh

Getting a link from Google Photos that work on XDA takes a few steps.
    1. Upload photo
    2 Click share
    3. Create Link
    4. Copy Link (e.g. https://photos.app.goo.gl/UEaPt7h8m6WaUqGd7
(The reason this link doesn't work is it's a link to a web page not a direct link to an image.)
    5. Open link in a browser (on mine it has a white background)
    6. Click on the photo so it opens to a new page. (on mine it has a black background)
    7. Copy image address.
    8. Wrap very largely address in the image code.
    Code:
    [PLAIN][Img] Paste Link Here [/Img][/PLAIN]

Image Link You are looking for, should look like this ridiculously long code.

By upload, do you also include image links? I have an image on my google drive. I added the link to that image in one of my posts. While the post did not show any errors, the image is not showing up when I view that post now.
Did the link you inserted between these tags
had the .img (or similar for a picture) at the end. If I want to insert pictures I usually don't upload to google but to https://imgbb.com/ or https://imgur.com/ (for permanent availability but require registration) or to https://framapic.org/.

is this on my side or serverside? thx.
I'm able to watch the two gif's without any problems. No issues here.

Same here. Just asked concerning an issue with installing Magisk, and I have detailed screenshots showing error messages. It’s a pity that I cannot upload them to make it easier for others to help me.
