Message szie limit reached on MMS. MIUI ROM

I'm trying to send a picture, but I get an error message saying,

"Message size limit reached."

Sorry, you cannot add this picture to your message.

the picture is 982 KB and I wanted to know if anyone knows a mod that will extend the limit size like they have droid x

running MIUI 203020 version

I believe that is a cap set by verizon and most other carriers, and not the android os. I could be wrong though.

No, I'm afraid that--that's not the case. It has something to do with MIUI rom.

Oh yeah i forgot there is a setting for 200k, 500k, and 1.2mb in the stock gb messaging app. Sorry i know nothing about MIUI. Have you tried a third party app like handcent etc. I use handcent and like it way better than the stock app.
