It does NOT modify system files. If something unplanned happens, just reboot your device and it will restore your stock navigation bar.

Note: If you don't have root but you have KitKat or Android L you should try: GMD Full Screen Immersive Mode (no root) instead. It uses native KitKat immersive mode. You can find it in PlayStore and XDA.

This app can hide navigation bar without reboot and modifications.
It worth on devices with Phone UI, Phablet UI and devices with hardware keys.
It does not work on Tablet UI.

Thanks oode for video review:

Unique Features:
- Hide just navigation bar and keep notifications bar.
- Show Quick NavBar and click soft button with one simple swipe.
- Theme Quick NavBar.
- Adjust trigger size and position.
- Integrate with Gesture Control or Tasker using Shortcuts.
- Stock firmwares and Paranoid Android supported.
- No system modifications are done
- No reboot required to hide/show stock keys.

Differences to other status bar hiding apps:
* Does not remove notification bar
* Does not modify system
* No need to reboot
* Stock Notification panel and settings panels are fully working
* Stock recent apps list is fully working
* No problems with receiving phone calls

Known problems:
* Sometimes resets wallpaper to default.

Sorry for not trusting you but it is literally too buggy for me :/

This is alfa version at the moment and all feedback about new devices is helpful. I am collecting supported/unsupported device list. Check it after a week or so and maybe I will be able to fix it for your device too .

No go on TF201, been waiting for an app to remove the navbar on 4.2.2 for a while but it looks like I'm back to removing it through the ROM power menu everytime the tablet boots.

Custom roms usually have modified that part and I would need to add custom support for them. I just posted new version with Paranoid Android support, but I don't think its possible to support each and every custom ROM with this type of app. There are no standards and each ROM modifies it differently :(

What about logcat that I posted earlier?

It looks like it is pushed by Android after all. I will tweak some setting, lets see if it helps.

Working nicely on my N4. Like the nav rings.
The term 'sweep' had me guessing a little :) Maybe 'clear' would be better?

Yes but very buggy, reappear randomly and crashing my systemui.apk.

    - Is soft keys bar restored properly when you turn Auto Hide OFF?

Again, very buggy, some times it still disappear

    - Is autohide bar working properly?

    Buggy.

    - Are autohide bar buttons properly sized and aligned?

    No. A little too large.

Uninstalling the app still causes FCs.
    3
    New version 1.0

    New version:
    1.0:
    - Android 4.3 support - notification should hide properly now.
    - Fixed: 'Previous' staying on screen after clicking 'Back'

I'm currently running on 4.3 and the app does its job.
BUT, something wired is going on.. The 3 dot menu no longer appears in all apps, only appears on nav bar. I'm comparing the settings on two devices 4.2 and 4.3 and they're exactly the same, but apps on 4.2 device have 3 dot menu.

Is it software thing or am I doing something wrong??

Its not related to 4.3. Android does not display 'Menu' button in apps when device does not have soft keys, so devices with hardware buttons do not have this button in apps. Each applications check on startup if you have soft keys or not, so if you first start the app and then hide soft keys - you will still see Menu key and if you first hide soft keys and then start app - you won't. And last but not least - you can check 'Spoof Soft keys' in my app. But make sure to do it before you start app with Menu key or restart it properly. Note that 'Spoof' may cause some apps to do not redraw bottom area (navigation bar area), for example wallpaper may not fill all screen with Spoof checked.
Best solution is to get over that Menu button and use Menu in Quick Bar . As I said a lot of devices (like all Galaxy S series and so on) don't have it.
    2
    New dev version 0.99-dev1

    0.99-dev1:
    - Added trigger mode option: SWIPE or TOUCH
    - Added option: Hide Soft Keys. Uncheck it if you have other means to hide soft keys and just want to use Quick NavBar.
    - Improved service life time.
    - Fixed some text labels.

Very nice app. But can we enable the app without hiding the nav bar by the app? Because my rom supports expanded desktop mode and I can use it to hide the nav bar. Using the app to hide the nav bar seems to be a little bit unstable...sometimes it reset the wallpaper or the nav bar doesn't hide on boot.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

    Good idea, implemented
    2
Uploaded to Play Store and XDA:

    0.96:
    - Quick NavBar animation
    - New ring buttons (similar to Google Now) - Previous, Close All, Screen Off
    - Menu button ON/OFF option
    - Instant ring button show when swiping up from soft key.
    - Fixed: Quick NavBar not hiding in some rare cases.
    - Fixed: hide Quick NavBar on screen off.

When we get an update to fix the button freeze? :D

    Should be fixed.

Hi StupidIdea. Firstly, I love the app. I bought the pro version.

My question - Tablet UI isn't supported, but will it ever be? Your app is literally the only thing that keeps me from switching over to it on my Nexus 7. Just curious. Thanks!

I don't have plans for tablet ui yet. but this may change in the future .
